Abstract

The interior door panel has a built-in edge protection unit which is retractable and extendable, while opening the vehicle door. A padded sleeve is attached to a rotational axis of the edge protection sleeve. The rotational axis of the edge protection sleeve is movable over a connection to the door hinge. The edge protection sleeve is controlled by the steered-sensor electro-motors.

Description

1. SUMMARY:

When opening the car door, a padded protective sleeve is extended around the door edge. When closing the protective sleeve is moved back into the inner lining.

2.1. FIELD OF USE:

This invention is - after structural adjustments - applicable to all vehicle doors.

2.2. STATE OF THE ART:

So far there is no door edge protection, which is integrated in the interior lining of vehicle doors and both when opening the door extends as well as retracted when closing.

2.3. OBJECTIVE:

When opening the vehicle door, the edge protector should be lowered automatically and retracted when closing.

Too rapid belching and heavy slamming of the vehicle doors should be slowed down. The edge protection should be installed in the door rebate in such a way that it is not visible from outside and inside when the door is closed.

4. DESCRIPTION:

On the handle side of a car door is in the interior trim ( 2 ) a vertical axis of rotation ( 7 ) with a - depending on the vehicle door size - about 30 to about 100 centimeters long protective sleeve ( 5 and 6 ) built-in. This has a diameter of about 4 to about 10 cm and is made of metal or hard plastic and is covered with a cushion layer.

The axis of rotation ( 7 ) of the protective sleeve ( 5 and 6 ) is via a toothed belt or a chain ( 4 ) with a gear on the door hinge ( 3 ) connected. When opening the door - if it is opened a few centimeters - by this drive connection ( 4 ) the protective sleeve ( 5 and 6 Turned over the door edge: Thus, the door edge itself and adjacent cars or objects are protected by the padding of the sleeve.

Edge protection, according to claim 1, as a padded sleeve which is attached to a rotation axis. Rotary axis with sleeve, according to claim 2, which is movable via a connection (chain, toothed belt, rope) to the door hinge. Car door interior lining, according to claim 1, with an edge protector, which can be moved in and out via sensor-controlled electric motors.
