Description

Um eine Batterie der eingangs genannten Art zu schaffen, mittels welcher auch bei geringem Bauraumbedarf ein sehr guter Schutz der Batterie im Falle einer unfallbedingten Kraftbeaufschlagung; insbesondere bei einem Seitenaufprall bzw. bei einem sogenannten Pfahlaufprall, des Fahrzeugs gegeben ist, ist es erfindungsgemäß vorgesehen, dass an einer Außenseite des Gehäuses wenigstens ein Lastverteilungselement angeordnet ist. Mittels des Lastverteilungselements können auf die Batterie insbesondere lokal wirkende unfallbedingte Kräfte aufgenommen und zumindest im Wesentlichen flächig in das Gehäuse eingeleitet und auf diesem verteilt werden. Insbesondere können hierdurch Kantenbereiche des üblicherweise kastenförmigen Gehäuses der Batterie von lokalen Unfallbelastungen entlastet und übermäßige Intrusionen vermieden werden. In diesem Zusammenhang hat es sich auch als besonders vorteilhaft gezeigt, das Lastverteilungselement im entsprechenden Kantenbereich anzuordnen.
