Die innere Stofflage erstreckt sich nicht über die gesamte Frontpartie, sie ist mit den in Badeshorts üblichen Netzeinsätzen vergleichbar, wobei aber der hintere Teil fehlt und dafür der Einsatz an der unteren Naht zwischen den Beinen befestigt wird. Es geht es ausdrücklich um eine Haltefunktion des inneren Stoffs, der somit zwangsläufig körpernah geschnitten sein muss. US 3,714,946 A schlägt Innentaschen zur Aufnahme von Saugkörpern vor.
