To solve the problem of providing a joint tape for road construction for the production of seams and / or connections in cover layers of asphalt mix available, which is easier to handle, a joint tape is proposed, comprising a joint body made of a bitumen-containing material and at least one arranged on this Adhesive layer, characterized in that the adhesive layer by thermal and / or chemical activation has a tackiness, which allows sufficient for the production of sutures and / or connections adhesion to a flank of the seam and / or the terminal, and wherein the adhesive layer in the non-activated state at room temperature (23 ° C) does not give such adhesion.
Description
The present invention relates to a joint tape for road construction for the production of seams and / or connections, in particular for cover layers of bituminous mixtures, as well as a method for laying such a joint tape and its use.
Generic joint tapes are known from the prior art. Bitumen-based joint tapes have been used in road construction for the manufacture of seams and / or connections for decades. Seams in the context of the present invention result from a combination of side-by-side installation strips made of mixtures with comparable properties, whereas connections in the sense of the present invention designate connections, for example, from installation sheets made from mixtures with different properties. For example, connections between concrete and asphalt can also be provided. In addition, for the purposes of the present invention, the term connection also means the use of joint tapes in the production of installation strips of mix material, which lead to internals such as manhole covers, drains or the like, wherein the mix is compacted to this.
Mixture may in particular be any type of asphalt, and in particular for the purposes of the present invention, an asphalt mix, for example, rolled asphalt including asphalt concrete, open-pored asphalt, (mastic) mastic asphalt or mastic asphalt.
Generic waterstops are used in particular in the renovation and repair of tramcars to provide a connection between the old pavement and the newly manufactured pavement or the repaired section available, the compound produced thereby should preferably be waterproof, but also a certain flexibility Provide with regard to the expansion of tram coats in the heat and cold, in general in case of temperature fluctuations, or by stress, including vibrations caused by passing traffic.
Generic joint tapes are also referred to as vertical or standing joint tapes, which is referred to the edge of a mounting track or internals, which may have been previously milled and cleaned and referred to as joint edge with respect to the later resulting from the cultivation of another installation fence joint, with one of its longitudinal sides be created and pressed. Generic joint tapes are machined as preformed thermoplastic tape profiles, with a seam tape typically having a height in a range of about 2 cm to about 5 cm and a width of about 0.4 cm to about 1.5 cm. The profile cross-section is usually formed approximately rectangular, often with a slightly barrel-like thickening in the middle and rounding at the top and bottom.
Known from the prior art for several years single-joint tapes, which consist exclusively of a bitumen-containing material produced joint tape body. These are heated to effect a sufficient adhesion to the flank of the existing installation track or internals by means of a propane gas flame and thereby superficially melted, whereby the flank itself can be warmed, then subsequently the joint tape is pressed against the flank. This is not a dense, in particular watertight connection between the joint tape on the pressure side and the edge of the existing paving be achieved, this will be achieved only after compaction of mix below, in which case the joint tape body / the joint strip sufficiently, d. H. more than superficial melting, to provide such a tight connection. Depending on the temperature of the mixed material, it may even be possible to melt the joint tape. Subsequently, the mixture is compacted by rolling. In this case, a supernatant of the joint tape is mitverwalzt on the top of the mounting track, so that a breakage of grains is prevented at the edges of the two mutually built-in installation paths and outbreaks, for example, caused by a milling of the flank, are filled.

In both of the aforementioned types of joint tapes known from the prior art, it is also possible in principle to treat this flank with a primer, also known as a primer, before the joint tape is pressed against the flank of an existing installation web. Such primers may also have an adhesive effect themselves.
The joint tape body known from the prior art joint tapes have at best a low tackiness. The stickiness of bitumen materials can be influenced, in particular reduced, by the addition of mineral fillers. The low tack of the joint tape body known from the prior art joint tapes alone is not sufficient to provide a sufficient attitude of the joint tape on the flank of an existing installation track without heating available. In the case of the at least two-layer joint tapes with a joint tape body and an adhesive layer arranged on one longitudinal side of the same, this can just be omitted.
In principle, the joint tapes known from the prior art are provided on at least one side with a separating layer, for example of a wax paper or a fleece, and packaged in the rolled-up state. The separating layer ensures that there is no sticking or fusing under the influence of heat on the packaging of the rolled-up joint strip, so that it can be safely stored and processed on site.
Essential for the function of the generic joint tapes is that they absorb the mechanical stress caused by driving over as well as by heat or cold, more generally caused by temperature fluctuations loads. Particularly relevant is the ability of the generic joint tapes to have sufficient elasticity to changes the joint width, which is subsequently formed the installation of the new installation track between this and the old installation track, and is filled with the generic joint tape of at least 10% to compensate. It has been shown here that, especially in the field of modern bituminous mixture, such as open-pored asphalt, the elasticity of joint tapes known from the prior art may under certain circumstances not be sufficient to reconstruct the changes in the joint widths. This also in view of the often increased in the summer months temperatures, often exacerbated by dark-colored installation panels, and increasing the burden of mechanical over driving ever heavier automobiles. Moreover, single-layer bitumen joint tapes known from the prior art have the disadvantage that the heating with a propane gas flame necessary for successful processing thereof is quite time-consuming. In addition, even a slight stickiness of the joint tape body / the joint strip leads to an adhesion of dirt particles, which makes handling the joint tapes difficult. The latter also applies to at least two-layer joint tapes with a joint tape body and an adhesive layer arranged on a longitudinal side of the same. It should also be considered that when depositing such provided with an adhesive layer joint tape, the release paper must be removed, and then the adhesive layer is exposed, so here is an accidental bonding of the joint tape with other objects on the site or the joint tape with itself with the formation of loops or the like is possible.
It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a generic joint tape available, which does not have the disadvantages mentioned in the prior art.
This object is achieved by a joint tape for road construction for the production of seams and / or connections, especially in cover layers of bituminous mixture comprising a joint tape body of a bituminous material and at least one adhesive layer arranged on this, wherein the adhesive layer by thermal and / or chemical activation of a Stickiness which allows sufficient for the production of seams and / or connections adhesion to a flank of the seam and / or the terminal, and in the non-activated state at a temperature of 23 ° C does not impart such adhesion. Preferably, the adhesive layer is at least in a temperature range from about -20 ° C to about + 45 ° C, preferably from about -10 ° C to about 42 ° C, more preferably in a temperature range from about 5 ° C to about 40 ° C, essentially not sticky. Combinations of the aforementioned limits are possible.
The joint tape according to the invention has the great advantage that it avoids the adhesion of dirt particles on the adhesive layer before activation of the same, since they are not sticky at normal outdoor temperatures at which generic joint tapes are used. As a result, the shelf life and transportability and the handling of the joint tape according to the invention is facilitated on site, especially if this has arranged on both sides and top the full side surface of the joint body, the adhesive layer. In addition, the joint tape according to the invention has an improved elasticity over the known from the prior art joint tapes, in particular single-layered, one can talk about a doubling of a conventional elasticity Einschichtiger known waterstops, whereby the increased demands on the elasticity of joint tapes is taken into account. In addition, the provision of an activatable adhesive layer allows a highly tacky formation of the same after activation, wherein the tack then goes well beyond that which is known in known from the prior art two-layer joint tapes with an adhesive layer on a joint tape body. In addition, the activatable adhesive layer does not adhere to the release paper, so that rolling up of the joint tape according to the invention without provision of a separating layer of release paper or the like is made possible. This is particularly advantageous when arranging in each case an adhesive layer on each side surface of the joint tape body. And finally, in comparison to the single-layer joint tapes of the prior art, a considerably shorter activation time, in particular in a thermal activation, achieved because the adhesive layer is activated faster than a joint tape body is melted on the surface. An activation time in a range of 0.1 second to 5 seconds, preferably 0.2 seconds to 1 second, is sufficient to activate the adhesive layer of the joint tape according to the invention and thus cause it to be very tacky, in contrast to a single-layered one Joint tapes necessary melting time in a range of usually 5 seconds to 10 seconds, rather even longer, then to allow due to the fused joint tape / joint tape body sufficient attitude and thus adhesion of the same at the joint edge.
The processing of joint tapes according to the invention is particularly favored when using automatic or automatic processing devices for joint tapes, since the provision of an activatable adhesive layer arresting to deflecting, pressure and other guide elements is prevented. "Substantially non-sticky" in the sense of the present invention means that the adhesive layer at most gives a slight impression of adhesion or adhesion up to a temperature of almost 50 ° C., in particular in the temperature range mentioned, in contact with the fingers of a hand of the operating personnel , Dirt particles with a grain size greater than 0.5 mm can not adhere to the adhesive layer. Advantageously, the adhesive layer at a temperature of 23 ° C is more preferably not sticky, d. H. in particular, no impression of adhesion and stickiness is imparted to the finger when touched by the fingers of one hand.
Advantageously, the tackiness of the adhesive layer in the non-activated state is less than the tackiness of the joint tape body itself. The tackiness itself is provided by the adhesive layer after activation, and is sufficient for the joint tape according to the invention to be functional and functional on a flank of a seam and / or a seam Attach attachment to adhesion, so that this is held there in the sense of a pre-assembly, so that the subsequent installation of the installation guards is ensured without it comes to a drop in the edge adhering to the invention joint tape of this. For the purposes of the present invention, the adhesive layer then has a stickiness which allows adequate adhesion to the flank.
The joint tape body of the joint tape according to the invention preferably has a height of about 2 cm to about 5 cm and a thickness of about 0.4 cm to about 1.8 cm, and thus has a substantially rectangular cross section, optionally exactly rectangular cross section on. Due to the manufacturing process for the joint tape body, the cross section is somewhat barrel-shaped in that in the middle of a slight thickening takes place, and there are rounding at the top and bottom. The at least one adhesive layer is applied to at least one side surface of the joint tape, covering it at least partially, preferably almost completely or completely. The adhesive layer can also be applied in the form of a pattern, for example a waffle pattern, or in a linear or similar manner. The adhesive layer preferably has a thickness in a range of about 0.1 mm to about 5 mm, preferably in a range of about 0.5 mm to about 2 mm, more preferably from about 0.6 mm to about 1.3 mm.
The mix used for the production of cover layers is in particular an asphalt mixture, preferably in the context of the present invention, as described above in the description of the general state of the art, and may in particular be selected from a group comprising rolled asphalt and mastic asphalt , and may in particular be asphalt concrete, (mastic) mastic asphalt and / or open-pored asphalt (PA).
The adhesive layer can basically be single-layer, but also multi-layered. A multi-layer is achieved, for example, in that several layers of the adhesive layer are applied in several steps in the production of the joint tape according to the invention.
According to the invention, the at least one adhesive layer is chemically and / or thermally, more preferably thermally, activatable. For example, chemical activation may be accomplished by spraying or otherwise wetting the adhesive layer, for example with a solvent such as ethanol, acetone or acetic acid or other carboxylic acids. However, other known from the prior art chemical activators, including isocyanate-based, can be used. Preferably, however, the activation takes place thermally, in particular by the propane gas flame already known from the prior art, wherein advantageously the duration of the activation is considerably reduced in comparison to in particular single-layer, known from the prior art joint tapes, the duration advantageously in a range of about 0.1 seconds to about 30 seconds, preferably in a range of about 0.2 seconds to about 15 seconds, more preferably in a range of about 0.3 seconds to about 3 seconds, and most preferably in a range of about 0.5 seconds to about 2 seconds. The activation provides a strong stickiness to the adhesive layer, thereby securely holding it to the flank of an existing installation track, thus allowing for the successful production of seams and / or connections. Thermal activation in the context of the present invention also includes activations by irradiation, insofar as this causes heating in the adhesive layer, as is possible, for example, by using microwave radiation or the like. The said activation period is in any case considerably shorter than that which is necessary in the case of single-layer joint tapes which have only one joint tape body, in order here to achieve sufficient adhesion to achieve an attitude of the joint tape on the flank.
Finally, the present invention relates to the use of the joint tape according to the invention for the production of seams and / or connections in cover layers of asphalt mix in road construction.
Tabelle 9
A joint tape according to the invention was produced with a single-layer adhesive layer on a side surface of a joint tape body produced from a bituminous material, the adhesive layer covering the side surface by about 90 percent. The composition of the joint tape body and an adhesive layer can be found in Table 1. Table 9
The joint tape according to the invention, produced on the basis of the above-mentioned composition by first producing a joint tape body profile with a dimension of about 4 cm in height and about 1 cm wide was provided with an adhesive layer in a thickness of 0.8 mm. Alternatively, it is also possible to produce the joint tape according to the invention by coextrusion.
The joint tape according to the invention was then examined in terms of its extensibility and adhesion to the joint model of Rabe, as set forth in the description, and thereby with the products on the market TOK-band SK and TOK-Band Spezial of DENSO GmbH, Leverkusen, compared. An extensibility of 12% was determined for the TOK-Band SK, 12.7% for the TOK-Band Special and more than 30% for the joint tape according to the invention, which almost triples the extensibility of the joint tape according to the invention compared to these known in the art joint tapes. The flank stress was determined to be 0.28 N / mm 2 for the TOK-band SK, 0.41 N / mm 2 for the TOK-Band Spezial and 0.39 N / mm 2 for the joint tape according to the invention.
The joint tape according to the invention is thus not only easier to handle compared to the known from the prior art joint tapes due to the significant reduction in the adhesion of dirt particles, but also has a superior elasticity, which predestined in view of the increased stresses on roads this to be used in road construction.
