Durch den dünnen Film aus der diamantartigen Kohlenstoffschicht werden die erwähnten Bereiche mit einer sehr hohen Härte versehen, so dass eine Lenkbewegung zum Bewegen einer Lenkung eines Kraftfahrzeugs auch nach längeren Geradeausfahrten mit geringen Kräften eingeleitet werden kann.
