Es wird vorgeschlagen, dass die Steuer- und/oder Regeleinheit eine Neigungsfunktion aufweist, die dazu vorgesehen ist, die Kraftstoffpumpe in Abhängigkeit von einer Fahrbahnneigung zu steuern und/oder zu regeln. Dadurch kann eine bedarfsgerechte Steuerung und/oder Regelung der Kraftstoffpumpe unabhängig von einem Kraftstofftankfüllstand erreicht werden, wodurch ein Einsparpotenzial eines Kraftstoffs besser ausgenutzt werden kann. Es kann eine Kraftstoffdruckanhebung und damit eine Anhebung einer Leistung bzw. einer Förderleistung der Kraftstoffpumpe erst ab einer bestimmten Fahrbahnneigung realisiert werden, wodurch eine bedarfsgerechte Steuerung und/oder Regelung der Leistung der Kraftstoffpumpe verbessert werden kann. Da die Kraftstoffpumpe direkt, d. h. mechanisch oder indirekt, d. h. elektrisch mittels eines Verbrennungsmotors des Kraftfahrzeugs angetrieben wird, kann dadurch ein Kraftstoff eingespart und die Umweltfreundlichkeit des Kraftfahrzeugs erhöht werden. Unter „bedarfsgerecht” soll insbesondere verstanden werden, dass die Kraftstoffpumpe in Abhängigkeit von einem Kraftstoffbedarf des Verbrennungsmotors geregelt und/oder gesteuert wird. Vorteilhafterweise wird die Kraftstoffpumpe in Abhängigkeit von einem Lastzustand des Verbrennungsmotors, beispielsweise Teillast oder Volllast, betrieben. Vorzugsweise wird die Kraftstoffpumpe mit einer Leistung betrieben, die kleiner ist als eine maximale Leistung. Unter einer ”Steuer- und/oder Regeleinheit” soll insbesondere eine Einheit mit zumindest einem Steuergerät verstanden werden. Unter einem ”Steuergerät” soll insbesondere eine Einheit mit einer Prozessoreinheit und mit einer Speichereinheit sowie mit einem in der Speichereinheit gespeicherten Betriebsprogramm verstanden werden. Grundsätzlich kann die Steuer- und/oder Regeleinheit mehrere untereinander verbundene Steuergeräte aufweisen, die vorzugsweise dazu vorgesehen sind, über ein Bus-System, wie insbesondere ein CAN-Bus-System, miteinander zu kommunizieren. Unter einer „Fahrbahnneigung” soll insbesondere eine Neigung und/oder ein gekrümmter Verlauf einer Fahrbahn verstanden werden, auf der das Kraftfahrzeug steht oder sich fortbewegt. Vorteilhafterweise resultiert aus der Fahrbahnneigung eine Neigung eines Kraftstoffspiegels. Durch ein Fortbewegen des Kraftfahrzeugs auf der einen gekrümmten Verlauf aufweisenden Fahrbahn und damit in einer Kurvenfahrt resultiert die Neigung des Kraftstoffspiegels vorzugsweise aufgrund von Zentrifugalkräften.
