Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a leaf spring made of a fiber composite material, consisting of a plurality of wetted with a synthetic resin fiber layers, wherein different lengths of fiber layers are arranged one above the other. Moreover, the invention relates to a method for producing such a leaf spring.
If such a fiber composite leaf spring to be optimized in terms of their suspension and weight properties, the skilled person is endeavored to adapt the geometry of the leaf spring to an ideal course, which can be calculated from an operating load profile for the leaf spring. This results in a structure of a fiber composite sheet spring according to the prior art to the fact that even very short fiber layers must be used to form the axially thickest portion of the leaf spring. For it is known from analyzes that the fibers arranged on or at the thickest points of such a leaf spring are very advantageous for mechanical reasons. However, very short fiber layers are very difficult to lay accurately, so that a lot of time is required for a manual production. In an automated machine production of such a fiber composite leaf spring, however, the cost of the automatic handling machines to be provided is very large. In addition, it has been shown that very short fiber layers, ie in the range of 0.5 cm to 10 cm, axially slip in the manufacture of the leaf spring. Therefore, a fiber composite leaf spring, which has the previously known structure, although having a largely optimal geometry, but their thickest points do not contribute greatly to the desired leaf spring properties because of the very short fiber layers and possibly slipped fiber layers.
Against this background, the present invention seeks to provide a leaf spring made of a fiber composite material having a thickening portion which is formed without the use of very short fiber layers. Nevertheless, the thickening should also have an optimum fiber volume fraction at its thickest point. Another object is to describe a method of manufacturing such a leaf spring.
The solution of these objects results from the features of the independent claims. Advantageous developments are described in the associated subclaims.
Accordingly, the invention initially relates to a leaf spring made of a fiber composite material, consisting of a plurality of wetted with a synthetic resin fiber layers, wherein different lengths of fiber layers to form a predetermined thickness profile of the leaf spring are arranged one above the other. To optimize the leaf spring, in particular with regard to their mechanical spring properties and in terms of their weight, is provided according to the invention that the different lengths of fiber layers are alternately arranged one above the other so that they form with one axial end of the first axial end of the leaf spring and with their other axial end does not reach the second axial end of the leaf spring.
Preferably, each fiber layer has a plurality of individual fibers arranged one above the other and next to one another. However, it can also be provided that the fiber layers consist of individual fiber strands (rovings) or fiber fabrics, for example a unidirectional fabric. The fiber layers together with the synthetic resin form a fiber composite material, which is constructed, for example, from glass fibers and an epoxy resin. The use of known prepregs for forming the fiber layers is advantageous.
With the design principle defined by the invention, almost any desired thickness geometry of a fiber composite leaf spring can be realized, without having to use short or even very short fibers or fiber layers. If the location with the greatest thickness of the leaf spring as usual should be formed in the region of the axial center, the shortest one end of the leaf spring forming fibers or fiber layers are slightly longer than half the axial length of the leaf spring. This will be explained further below on exemplary embodiments.
In a particularly preferred embodiment of the invention, it is provided that the differently long fiber layers with their other, so not axial end end axially overlap the axial center of a thickening of the leaf spring, without reaching the opposite second axial end of the leaf spring. As a result, a particularly good force transmission between the fibers of the fiber layers is achieved in the overlap region of the fiber layers of different lengths.
According to another embodiment of the invention it is provided that in addition to those fibers or fiber layers which do not extend from one axial end to the other axial end of the leaf spring, such fiber layers or fibers are arranged in the leaf spring, extending from an axial End up to the other axial end of the leaf spring. These fibers or fiber layers are arranged according to a preferred variant in the region of the middle of the thickness of the leaf spring, so rather close above and close to the neutral fiber of the leaf spring.
Further, it is preferably provided that the different lengths of fibers or fiber layers, which form an axial end of the leaf spring, are arranged one above the other to construct the leaf spring, that starting from the neutral fiber of the leaf spring with increasing thickness of the leaf spring ever shorter fiber layers are alternately superimposed , The respective length of the fibers or fiber layers determines the formation of the thickness geometry of the leaf spring.
According to a first variant can be provided that at least one fiber layer with a certain length at one axial end of the leaf spring is flush, and that over this fiber layer at least one further fiber layer with the same length at the other end of the leaf spring is flush. Accordingly, of two fiber layers of the same length one fiber layer left-aligned and the other fiber layer arranged right-justified. The fibers or fiber layers which do not extend to the axial end of the leaf spring overlap in the region of the thickening formed.
According to a second variant, it is provided that at least one fiber layer with a certain length rests flush on one axial end of the leaf spring, and that over this fiber layer at least one other fiber layer lies flush with the other end at the other end of the leaf spring. Accordingly, two fiber layers of different lengths are alternately left-aligned and right-justified one above the other. The fibers or fiber layers which do not extend to the axial end of the leaf spring overlap in the region of the thickening formed.
Another development provides that in the leaf spring fiber layers are additionally arranged, which reach neither of the two axial ends of the leaf spring. These fiber layers are preferably located far from the top and the bottom and away from the neutral fiber of the finished leaf spring and contribute to the geometric design of the leaf spring.
According to another embodiment, it is provided that the axial region of the leaf spring, in which its uppermost fiber layer in the thickening covers the underlying fiber layer, amounts to at least 5% of the axial extension of the thickening.
The leaf spring produced by the described mutual superposition of fiber layers may have a thickening with its thickest point in the region of its axial center, at its end-side clamping areas or in between.
It is judged advantageous if it is provided that in each case at least one fiber layer is arranged on the upper side and on the underside of the leaf spring, which extends to both ends of the leaf spring. This ensures that the upper side or the lower side of the leaf spring has a homogeneous and smooth or step-free structure.
The inner structure of a leaf spring produced by way of example according to the invention accordingly provides for the use of different, alternately layered fiber layers, namely the fiber layers of different length, which form with one axial end the first axial end of the leaf spring and with its other axial end the second reach axial end of the leaf spring, and those fiber layers which extend to both ends of the leaf spring, and those fiber layers which reach neither of the two axial ends of the leaf spring.
More specifically, a leaf spring according to the invention is formed, which is characterized in that starting from the neutral fiber of the leaf spring first such fiber layers are arranged, which extend to both ends of the leaf spring, that with increasing thickness symmetrical to the neutral fiber several such different long Fiber layers are arranged, which form with its one axial end, the first axial end of the leaf spring and not reach the second axial end of the leaf spring with its other axial end, that then again such fiber layers are arranged, which extend to both ends of the leaf spring, that then fiber layers are arranged in the leaf spring, which reach neither of the two axial ends of the leaf spring, then that such fiber layers are arranged, which extend to both ends of the leaf spring, that then several such different length fiber layers are arranged, which with their one axial end form the first axial end of the leaf spring and not reach the second axial end of the leaf spring with its other axial end, and then finally each at least one fiber layer is disposed on the top and bottom of the leaf spring, which extends to both ends the leaf spring extend.
Another specific embodiment of the invention provides a leaf spring, which is characterized in that starting from the neutral fiber of the leaf spring first such fiber layers are arranged, which extend to both ends of the leaf spring, that with increasing thickness symmetrical to the neutral fiber more such Are arranged differently long fiber layers in the leaf spring, which reach neither of the two axial ends of the leaf spring, then at least one such fiber layer is arranged, which extends to both ends of the leaf spring, that then several such different lengths of fiber layers are arranged, which with their axial end form the first axial end of the leaf spring and not reach with its other axial end of the second axial end of the leaf spring, then that such fiber layers are arranged, which extend to both ends of the leaf spring, that then several such different lengths Fiber layers are arranged, which form with its one axial end, the first axial end of the leaf spring and not reach the second axial end of the leaf spring with its other axial end, and then finally each at least one fiber layer at the top and at the bottom of the leaf spring is arranged, which extends to both ends of the leaf spring.
- a) Zuschneiden von Faserlagen unterschiedlicher Länge,

- e) alternately depositing ever shorter fiber layers one above the other in the form, said fiber layers form the first axial end or the second axial end of the leaf spring with one of its axial ends, but not reach the other axial end of the leaf spring, until the desired leaf spring thickness is reached is.
A leaf spring produced by this method has a symmetrical thickness course around its neutral fiber, since below and above the neutral fiber, shorter and shorter fiber layers are arranged one above the other.
If a fiber composite leaf spring is to be produced which has no thickening on one side of its neutral fiber and thickening on the opposite side, the following process steps are necessary:

Two leaf spring semi-finished products manufactured according to process steps f) to h) can be connected to one another according to a variant of the method on their flat undersides. This can be done, for example, by gluing two already hardened leaf spring semi-finished products, or by superimposing two leaf spring semi-finished products, which are each constructed of prepregs and not yet completely set.
In these two methods may additionally be provided that the top and / or the underside of the leaf spring is formed by the storage of at least one fiber layer which extends from the first axial end to the second axial end of the leaf spring.

The advantages that the structural design of the fiber composite leaf spring produced according to the invention are also achievable if the individual fiber layers are not stored in a form alternately one above the other, but this is done directly on a flat or curved surface. A subsequent or delayed with the transfer of this raw leaf spring in a molding press then allows their setting and curing.
