Bei Druckluftkompressoren in Kolben-/Zylinderbauweise treten besonders erschwerte Bedingungen im Bereich des Zylinderkopfs dort auf, wo besonders hohe Temperaturen im Dauerbetrieb erzeugt werden, insbesondere im unteren Teil des Zylinderkopfes, der auch als Manifold bezeichnet wird, und im Bereich des Auslassventils.
