Die erfindungsgemäße Filtereinrichtung, welche bspw. als Öl- oder Kraftstofffilter ausgebildet ist, weist somit den vom Deckel verschlossenen Filtertopf auf, wobei in letzterem das Filterelement, bspw. ein Ringfilterelement, angeordnet ist. Erfindungsgemäß ist nun die Mitnehmereinrichtung mit deckelseitigen und filterelementseitigen Mitnehmerelementen vorgesehen, über welche zumindest Axialkräfte aber auch Drehmomente bis zu einem gewissen Wert übertragbar sind, so dass das Filterelement mittels des Deckels aus dem Filtertopf gezogen werden kann. Die filterelementseitigen Mitnehmerelemente hintergreifen dabei die deckelseitigen Mitnehmerelemente in Radialrichtung. Diese beiden Mitnehmerelemente weisen dabei oben genanntes, vordefiniertes Radialspiel zueinander auf, das so bemessen ist, dass das Filterelement vom Deckel gelöst werden kann, sofern dieses in eine radiale Endlage bezüglich des Deckels verstellt wird. Ein zum Kippen des Filterelements relativ zum Deckel benötigter großer radialer Freiraum zwischen dem Filterelement und dem Deckel wird somit nicht mehr benötigt. Aus diesem Grund kann das Filterelement an sich deutlich größer ausgebildet werden, als dies bei bisherigen Filtereinrichtungen möglich war, wodurch die erfindungsgemäße Filtereinrichtung bei gleichen Außenabmessungen eine im Vergleich zu bisherigen Filtereinrichtungen erhöhte Filterleistung aufweist.
