In dieser Spanleitform (3) wird die Form des Spans verändert und gebrochen, um der Entstehung von Fließspänen entgegenzuwirken. Die Spanleitform/en (3) verläuft/verlaufen dabei parallel, schräg, wellenförmig oder als Cluster von Einzelvertiefungen in unterschiedlichen Abständen zur Schneide (1). Die vordere Flanke/n (4) der Spanleitform/en hat/haben einen Winkel zur Spannutfläche, der den Anforderungen des zu zerspanenden Werkstoffes sowie des Prozesses angepasst ist. Die Spanleifform/en (3) ist/sind in unterschiedlichen Tiefen hergestellt und hat/haben in axialer Richtung unterschiedliche Längen und Formen.
