Abstract
Description
The The present invention relates to a system and a method for execution a sequential rising bid auction.
An auction or auction is made by submitting bids by potential buyers and / or seller the price of the goods to be auctioned. Which bid receives the contract, depends on the respectively used auction variant. Auctions will be either in auction houses or alternatively, for example, also carried out over the Internet. A special form of the auction represents the American auction, each bidder immediately the difference between his bid and the predecessor bid pays. In this case, those bidders can get the contract that with his bid the maximum amount achieved or the one bidder, the moment in which the time has expired, has made the last bid.
The American auction can be done unmodified only offline, because by missing definition of the auction process always an auctioneer be present, the missing rules, such as height of potential Bids, whether the auction should be simultaneous or sequential or chosen as the end of the auction should be defined and guaranteed.
The American auction still has the disadvantage that they have only one very simple "end mechanism" offers: Does not work new offer or takes the auctioneer the auction too long, he finishes the auction. This means a high degree of non-transparency for the bidder and arbitrariness, because the rules for ending the auction are not defined and thus in the "discretion" of the auctioneer lie.
The Object of the present invention is to provide a special To provide kind of American auction which the overcomes the above disadvantages and also about size Distances between the bidders without the presence of an auctioneer carried out can be.
- At least information about the good to be auctioned and the start time of the auction are published by a server computer via a computer network,
- - the bids of the participants are accepted via the computer network,
- - the auction is extended by the period t 2 , if within the period t 1 another valid offer is received,
- - The auction for a maximum of the period t 3 - t 1 , if t 1 > t 2 , for a maximum of the period t 3 - t 2 , if t 2 > t 1 or for a maximum of the period t 3 - t 1 (or t 2 ), if t 1 = t 2 is enabled on a server computer,
- For a valid bid, a predetermined amount of money G must be received at the server computer regardless of the success and
- The auction ends at the expiration of the period t 3 -t 2 or t 3 -t 1 and is published via the computer network, whereby the item to be auctioned is raffled among the participants of the auction and every single accepted bid is entitled to participate in the auction or
- - the end of the auction is reached in the absence of the receipt of another valid bid within a period t 1 and is published on the server computer over the computer network, with the last accepted bidder is the winner.
In diesem Fall entspricht
klar definierten, doppelten Beendigungsmechanismus. The system according to the invention has the following advantages, in particular with respect to the American auction:
In contrast to the American auction, the auction system according to the invention can be carried out simultaneously both simultaneously and sequentially. Since it is not the total amount of the bids received that is decisive for the bidder's bid, but only the times chosen in the different termination mechanisms, the bidder is interested in the number of bids received only in the event that after the period t 3 it is not the end of the bids Auction has come. In this case, the ratio of the valid bids made by him to the total number of valid bids submitted equals the probability with which he gets the auctioned item. In contrast to the American auction, the auction variant according to the invention has a clearly defined, double termination mechanism.
For a further advantageous embodiment variant, the information stored on the server computer about the property to be auctioned can be retrieved via a computer network of peripheral devices. In this case, the peripheral devices may be in particular computers or mobile communication means of any kind. From the peripherals from t 1 and / or t 2 can be read by the bidders. It is also advantageous if the bids from the bidder's peripheral computers are forwarded to the server computer via the computer network. It is advantageous if the bidders are paid for each bid online, by click & pay, by telephone, by EC-Cash and / or by credit card.
In order to There are also other advantages over the American auction, there according to the invention no auctioneer must be present and bidders worldwide from any location can bid.
- - the auction is extended by the period t 2 , if within the period t 1 another valid offer is received,
- - The auction for a maximum of the period t 3 - t 1 , if t 1 > t 2 , for a maximum of the period t 3 - t 2 , if t 2 > t 1 or for a maximum of the period t 3 - t 1 (or t 2 ), if t 1 = t 2 is enabled on a server computer,
- - for a valid bid, a predetermined amount of money G must be paid regardless of the success and,
- - the end of the auction is reached in a first mechanism with the expiration of the period t 3 - t 2 or t 3 - t 1 , wherein the auctioned good is raffled among the participants of the auction and every single accepted bid is entitled to win or
- - the end of the auction is reached in a second mechanism with the absence of the receipt of another valid bid within a period t 1 , the last accepted bidder being the winner.
In this method according to the invention, it is also advantageous that in the first end mechanism every single accepted bid is entitled to profit from winning. This means that a bidder can increase his chances of winning this raffle with the number of his bids. In the case of the second end mechanism, that is to say after the receipt of another valid bid within a period t 1 , the last accepted bidder has automatically won.
According to an advantageous embodiment of the method according to the invention, each bidder can bid as often as desired. A further advantage results from the fact that the auction winner buys the good to be auctioned for a total of only the already paid amount n × G, where n is the number of valid bids submitted. The predetermined amount of money G may be, for example, 1 Eur or 5 Eur. The maximum period t 3 may be limited to 3 months, for example, and the period t 1 and the time period t 2 may each be for example 24 hours. Of course, any other time periods are possible, wherein t 1 and t 2 may also be different lengths. According to the inventive method, the bidders can be paid online, by click & pay, by telephone, by EC-Cash and / or by credit card.
In accordance with this invention, a computer program with program code is further provided to carry out all of the method steps described above, when the program in a computer is running. Special advantages result from the storage of the computer program with program code on a machine-readable carrier when the program is for execution the method steps described above is performed in a computer.
