Mit diesem Saugeffekt wird das Sediment in der Beckenbodenmitte entfernt und zum Beckenrand verfrachtet. Am Beckenrand erfolgt eine Grobsiebung mittels Spalt- oder Bogensieb (9), wobei das Siebgut manuell entfernt wird. Das vor gesiebte Rohwasser gelangt über einen Bypass (5) in eine Flotationsvorrichtung (8) und wird dort erneut einer mechanischen Reinigung unterzogen. Danach gelang das Rohwasser – dem langsamen Bypassverlauf (5) folgend – in eine Sedimentation (7) unter Zuhilfenahme von Schrägklärern. In diesem sehr beruhigten und anaeroben Modul findet die Denitrifikation zum Abbau des Nitrates zu Stickstoff statt. Ab hier verläuft das gesamte Klärverfahren (6) genauso wie in der vorerwähnten Patentanmeldung beschrieben.
