Abstract
Description
The The invention relates to a method for controlling a process whose Step response over time either monotonically increasing or monotonous falls. Thus, the invention is applicable to the regulation of a temperature, Speed, position, concentration or other physical, chemical or mechanical sizes.
Either for the explanation the problem as well as for the explanation The invention will be better understood by way of example only Task reference in which a temperature is set. It should be noted, however, that the Invention not exclusive limited to the temperature in a given process, but - as already outlined above - applicable in principle is to any physical, chemical or mechanical size.
Further For simplicity of presentation, reference is made only to one task taken, in which the step response increases monotonically and the setpoint above the current actual value. The cases with a falling step response and / or with a setpoint below can be completely analog, with obvious adjustments, deal with.
Considered is a task in which a medium is to be heated by a heater, but in which there is no active cooling option. The heating power is continuously adjusted by a manipulated variable in the range of 0 to 100%. The task is to heat from an initial temperature as quickly as possible to a higher temperature T soll and to maintain the temperature T soll . It is essential to avoid greater overshoot, since there is no active cooling option and thus of a temperature greater than T is only about the natural cooling to get back to T soll . This process usually takes a long time.
The task becomes particularly difficult when the heating process is very sluggish. This means that a change in the heating power is noticeable only with a significant time delay in the temperature to be set. In this case, there is the danger that the temperature continues to rise for a very long time after the heating has been switched off, and in particular the desired temperature T soll is far exceeded.
Typische Übertragungsfunktionen, die einen Temperaturprozess beschreiben, sind IT1Tt-Glieder oder PT2Tt-GliederAn additional difficulty exists if there is no data about the process at system start, ie the parameters of the controlled system are not known (eg during initial use or after replacement of system components). This difficulty will be dealt with separately later on; First of all, it is assumed here that the system behavior is known in that a model of the controlled system exists which approximately describes the relationship between the manipulated variable (in% of the maximum heating power) and the temperature. The model can z. B. as transfer function F (s) or as a linear or non-linear differential equation. Typical transfer functions describing a temperature process are IT 1 T t members or PT 2 T t members
The Jump responses of these models are monotonically increasing or decreasing, depending on whether K> 0 or K <0.
In the general case, a process should be considered in which the controlled variable y is to be guided to the desired value y soll by adjusting the manipulated variable u. The model must describe the relationship between the manipulated variable u (here: heating output) and the controlled variable y (here: temperature). The step response of this model must either increase monotonically or fall monotonously.
An approach with a conventional single-loop control loop, in which the controller processes the difference between the setpoint and actual temperature, does not lead to the goal, since the control must be set very slowly in order to avoid a large overshoot for large setpoint jumps. This leads how In addition to that disturbances can be corrected only insufficiently, since here not fast enough one reacts.

- – Hochfahren der Regelgröße mit maximaler Stellgröße (z. B. Heizleistung gleich 100%) vom Zeitpunkt t0 bis zu einem Zeitpunkt tkand;
- – bei Erreichen von tkand wird der weitere Kurvenverlauf der Regelgröße unter der Annahme einer fiktiven Stellgröße, z. B. Heizleistung gleich 0% oder schrittweise Reduktion der Heizleistung von 100% nach 0%, geschätzt, unter Berücksichtigung des aktuellen Zustands des Prozesses (z. B. der aktuellen Temperatur und der aktuellen Temperaturänderung, zu bestimmen aus dem gemessenen Temperaturverlauf y(s),s ≤ t,) und unter Verwendung des Modells des Prozesses (z. B. einem IT1Tt – oder PT2Tt-Glied), wobei dann, wenn a) der Maximalwert der Regelgröße (z. B. Temperatur) des geschätzten Kurvenverlaufs unter dem Sollwert ysoll liegt, die maximale Stellgröße unverändert aufrechterhalten wird (z. B. Heizleistung gleich 100%) und der nächste Kandidat tkand ← tkand + Ts betrachtet wird, oder wenn b) der Maximalwert der Regelgröße über dem Sollwert ysoll liegt, die Stellgröße zu 0 wird und der Umschaltzeitpunkt tum = tkand bestimmt ist;
- - Starting the controlled variable with maximum manipulated variable (eg heating power equal to 100%) from the time t 0 to a time t kand ;
- - When t kand is reached, the further course of the controlled variable is calculated assuming a fictitious control variable, eg. B. heating power equal to 0% or gradual reduction of heating power from 100% to 0%, estimated, taking into account the current state of the process (eg, the current temperature and the current temperature change, to be determined from the measured temperature profile y (s) , s ≤ t,) and using the model of the process (eg an IT 1 T t or PT 2 T t member), in which case if a) the maximum value of the controlled variable (eg temperature) of the estimated curve profile is below the setpoint value y soll , the maximum control value is maintained unchanged (eg heating power equal to 100%) and the next candidate t kand ← t kand + T s is considered, or if b) the maximum value of the controlled variable exceeds y is the target value to the control value becomes 0 and the switching time t to t = kand is intended;
- - Upon reaching the switching time t to set a further control, each receives a reference variable for the controlled variable and the manipulated variable, wherein the reference variable for the controlled variable from the time t to estimated curve of the controlled variable and the setpoint y should the controlled variable is formed and wherein the control variable for the manipulated variable is formed from the notional manipulated variable profile which was used to calculate the estimation of the controlled variable profile at the time t um .
The estimate of the controlled variable at time t to participate in forming the reference variable from the time t to until such time as the estimate of the target value y is to be achieved for the first time. After the estimate has reached the setpoint, the setpoint forms the reference variable.
In this connection it is noted that if the maximum value of the controlled variable y at the estimated curve below the set point y is intended is, the control with the maximum manipulated variable, ie, for example at maximum heating power, continues to be operated, as has already been described above ,
According to a further feature of the invention, it is provided that at t to an estimate of the curve of the controlled variable (temperature) takes place when the manipulated variable (heating power) fictitious is gradually reduced.
That is, it is a curve of the controlled variable at fictitious gradual reduction of the manipulated variable (heating power) determined; It follows that the fictitious or estimated curve of the controlled variable (temperature) over time over the estimated curve of the controlled variable y, which results when the manipulated variable (heating power) becomes 0. This in turn means that the switching time t to , from which the manipulated variable is reduced, is smaller than the switching time when the manipulated variable becomes 0.

In detail, the invention is again based on a temperature process explains without the invention being limited thereto. Further, the simplicity assume that the notional manipulated variable is equal to 0%.
As already stated, the present invention has for its object to avoid the disadvantages outlined above (choice of switching time and unwanted control intervention) of the two-phase approach. The new method is typically implemented on a digital computer which measures the temperature at regular intervals (sampling time T s , eg T s = 1 second) and adjusts the heating power for a sampling period T s on the basis of internal calculations.
The solution consists of two phases. In the first phase is heated at full power. In addition, at each sample time t, the maximum temperature that would result if the heater were turned off at the next sampling time t + T s is estimated. For this prediction the model of the controlled system and the measured temperature curve y (s), s ≤ t, are used. If this predicted temperature is below the desired temperature T soll , the first phase is continued. However, if the predicted temperature is above the desired temperature T soll , the first phase is terminated and the second phase begins in the next sampling step t + T s ie t um = t + T s . For simple models, such as IT 1 T t members The maximum temperature can be determined by formula from the system parameters and the temperature and its slope, so that the prediction is to evaluate this formula. For complicated models, the prediction requires the solution of a differential equation and possibly the determination of the state at time t + T s by means of an observer.
The specified procedure usually provides a very accurate switching time t to between the two phases. If the model accurately describes the reality and there are no disturbances, then the best possible switchover time is determined. Only in case of model inaccuracies and not considered disturbances deviations occur.
The choice of the best possible switching time t um means that, ideally, it is not necessary to heat at the beginning of the second phase. Nevertheless, the temperature T soll is reached without overshoot. The heater must first use to keep the temperature T soll .
If, after the best possible switching time t , one were to activate a conventional control loop in which the regulator is subjected to a control error consisting of the difference between T soll and the current temperature, then the controller would destroy the ideal behavior since it would be different from zero Control error would immediately output a control signal. In the invention, this disadvantage is avoided by using after the switching time t to another control error. For this purpose, the procedure is as follows: From the switching time t in order, starting from the state of the system at the switching time, calculates the temperature profile of the model with the heater switched off. The result is a temperature profile, which initially increases monotonically, at a time t max reaches a value in the vicinity of T soll and then possibly falls again. As a reference variable, this curve is now used for t by ≤ t ≤ t max . From the time t max T soll is used as a reference variable. The controller is charged with the difference between this reference variable and the current temperature. Ideally (exact model and no interference) follows exactly the desired behavior, ie the controller accesses only from the time t m is intended for maintaining the temperature T a. The task of the controller is therefore only to compensate for deviations from the ideal case and to maintain the temperature once reached. This task can be done even with very fast and good disturbance set controller usually with minimal overshoot.
Of the Approach, as a guide to the System to use adapted signal is not new. For example is a scheme with two degrees of freedom based [Kreisselmeier, G .; Structure with two degrees of freedom. at - Automation Technology 47, No. 6, 1999, pp. 266-269.] on this principle. What is new, however, is the adaptation of the reference variable to the current system state and the use of a prediction.
- – Regelstrecke: der zu regelnde Prozess;
- – Regler (herkömmlich): ein Regler, z. B. ein PID-Regler, typischerweise schnell und auf gutes Störverhalten eingestellt;
- - controlled system: the process to be controlled;
- - Controller (conventional): a controller, eg. A PID controller, typically fast and set for good noise performance;
- - Predictive Leadership Planning (PFP): a building block in which the invention is realized.
Darin wird us = 100% ausgegeben. After a jump in the desired value y se from T 1 to T soll , the PFP first goes into the first phase. It will output u s = 100%. The controller is inactive in the first phase, so u = 100%. In the second phase (from t to ), the controller is active. The PFP delivers u s = 0% and for y s until the time t max the predicted temperature profile, starting from the state at the switchover time and assuming that it is not heating. From the time t max , the PFP supplies the setpoint T soll for y s and 0% for u s .
The connection from y to the PFP is shown in dashed lines, since y is used for prediction, but has no direct influence on the outputs u s and y s of the PFP.

- - Small increase in the estimated temperature profile from the switching time t to and adjustment of the time t max .
B. [G. C. Goodwin, S. F. Graebe and M. E. Salgado; Control System Design, Prentice Hall, Upper Saddle River, NJ, 2001, Abschnitt 11.3 (Anti-Windup Scheme)].
- - Modification of the method such that not u s = 0% is output from the switching time, but rather falling signal, z. B. of the form This modification is also used to predict the maximum temperature, and thus for determining the switching timing and the determination of t to y s from the switch used. The original approach is given for y → ∞. The motivation for this modification is based on the following consideration: Since the model used is always only an approximation of reality and external disturbances can not be ruled out, the new calculation can not be avoided of the switching time t by a slightly too large value. If the PFP output from the switching time t by the value u s = 0%, then the problem would arise that the controller can not compensate (because no negative manipulated variable, or no cooling is possible). The temperature T should therefore be exceeded in any case. The modification outlined causes the controller to reduce the signal u s by outputting a negative signal. This allows t to offset a late switchover, or generally too high a current temperature to be corrected. The modification can be interpreted as a buffer.
- - Modification of the method so that during the first phase not u s (t) = 100%, but another, constant heat output is output. This extends the first phase and may be useful if you want to identify parameters of the system despite a small jump in the setpoint (see below).
- - Since the controller in the first phase is not active, should the time t held to a complete controller reset.
- - Due to the manipulated variable restrictions, the state of the integrator in the controller can assume undesired values. Therefore, appropriate anti-windup measures should be taken, see e.g. [GC Goodwin, SF Graebe and ME Salgado; Control System Design, Prentice Hall, Upper Saddle River, NJ, 2001, Section 11.3 (Anti-Windup Scheme)].
It can be seen that after 20 seconds, a set point jump to 150 degrees. It is fully heated for about 3.5 minutes and the temperature rises continuously. Thereafter, a temperature profile is estimated which is used as a reference variable. Due to the controller intervention, the real heat output deviates from the reference variable for the heating output. This causes the real temperature to closely follow its reference variable. The transient process is almost time-optimal and does not overshoot.
The approach described above assumes that there is a model of the process. If such a model is not or only inaccurately available, then the method can be combined with a device for identifying a suitable model. It is exploited that the course of the controlled variable in the first phase corresponds to a scaled step response. Furthermore, it is exploited that an exact model is required only towards the end of the first phase, because only here, for the correct selection of the switching time t to , an accurate prediction of the controlled variable is needed.
Wird
eine einfache Modellstruktur angenommen, so existieren Methoden
zur Bestimmung der Systemparameter, siehe zum Beispiel [H. Lutz
und W. Wendt; Taschenbuch der Regelungstechnik, Verlag Harri Deutsch,
2000, Abschnitt 9.4 (Sprungantworten, Identifizierungsgleichungen
B. [Robert M. Corless, G. H. Gonnet, D.
E. G. Hare, D. J. Jeffrey, and D. E. Knuth, "On the Lambert W Funktion", Advances in Computational
Mathematics, volume 5, 1996, pp. 329–359].
In the invention, instead of the asymptote, the tangent of the step response is used, so that the following estimates result if the step response is present until a time point τ:

In dem oben skizzierten Beispiel mit den Parametern K = 1, T = 60 und T1 = 40 gilt für τ = 200 und t1 = 75: K ^ = 0.92, T ^u = 86.41 und T ^ = 43.The estimates converge for τ → ∞ against the true values, but they are also very strong for finite τ fast good values. In the example sketched above with the parameters K = 1, T = 60 and T 1 = 40, for τ = 200 and t 1 = 75: K ^ = 0.92, T ^ u = 86.41 and T ^ = 43.
Die Erfindung beinhaltet die folgenden Ergänzungen:
- – Wahl von t1 so, dass t1 ≈ Tu gilt;
- – Filterung (Glättung) der Sprungantwort vor den Rechnungen;
- – Berechnung von T für mehrere Werte von t1 und Mittelwertbildung;
- – Berücksichtigung der Höhe des Sprungsignals am Eingang;
- – Abbruch der Identifikation, wenn die Sprungantwort einen Wendepunkt erreicht hat;
- - choosing t 1 such that t 1 ≈ T u ;
- - filtering (smoothing) the step response before the calculations;
- Calculation of T for several values of t 1 and averaging;
- - taking into account the height of the jump signal at the input;
- - termination of the identification when the step response has reached a turning point;
- - Comparison of different parameter sets with the recorded step response and selection of the best fitting parameter set.

Therein K = 0.3, T = 40 and T t = 15 are preset parameters. These parameters are improved within approx. 3.5 minutes to K = 0.38, T = 47 and T t = 26. In the time to approx. 1.5 minutes the preset parameters are still used because of the flat course of the step response.
The invention is described here for a temperature control task in which only one can be heated. With appropriate modifications, it is also applicable to temperature controls where both heating and cooling can be used. Furthermore, it is applicable to the control of other physical, chemical or biological quantities, in which the transition between two set values can be realized with guide signals, which are composed of two temporally successive phases. The signals in the two phases are fixed in each case; However, the point in time t of the transition from the first to the second phase is variable and can be determined by the planning. In addition to temperature regulations, positional regulations should be mentioned in particular.
