In einem wirksamen und gleichzeitig möglichst sicheren und nebenwirkungsarmen Ginkgoextrakt sollten die genannten Stoffe also möglichst weitgehend fehlen.extracts from the leaves Ginkgo biloba has been used as a medicine for decades. Currently, they are used to treat various types of dementia and their symptoms as well as cerebral and peripheral circulatory disorders. Ingredients with which the effectiveness is linked are terpene lactones (Ginkgolide A, B, C and bilobalide) as well as glycosides of flavones (Quercetin, Kämpferol and Isorhamnetin). The leaves But Ginkgo biloba also contains components that are not desired efficacy contribute, but for Risks and side effects may be responsible. In addition to non-polar plant ingredients such as Ginkgolic acids these are 4'-O-methylpyridoxine and biflavones. In an effective and at the same time as possible safe and low-side-effect ginkgo extract should be the substances mentioned as possible largely missing.
4'-O-Methylpyridoxin: Biflavone:
- Amentoflavon: R1 = R2 = R3 = H
- Bilobetin: R1 = R3 = H, R2 = OCH3
- Ginkgetin: R3 = H, R1 = R2 = OCH3
- Isoginkgetin: R1 = H, R2 = R3 = OCH3
- Sciadopitysin: R1 = R2 = R3 = OCH3

This Restricted procedure but a complex sequence of several processing steps.
Also become the depletions of biflavones and 4'-O-methylpyridoxine described and claimed only in combination with each other. Dependent on of possibly future limits and against the background of the requirement one possible small change the extract composition could but it is desirable be to remove only the biflavones or the 4'-O-methylpyridoxine.
Furthermore the depletion is only with a single ion exchanger (Merck I) in the case of 4'-O-methylpyridoxine and a single adsorbent (activated carbon) in the case of biflavones described. The activated carbon has the disadvantage, typically not very selective to bind and not be regenerated.
Thus, the present invention is a process for the preparation of ginkgo extracts in which 4'-O-methylpyridoxine and / or biflavones across from the original extract largely possible be depleted and that about it In addition, simple and inexpensive carried out can be. The invention also relates to ginkgo extracts, available by this method are.
The This problem has been solved By separating the biflavones by adsorber resins and / or that of 4'-O-methylpyridoxine via acid Ion exchanger takes place.
- (a) Preparation of a ginkgo extract solution in a suitable solvent, as well
- (B) applying the solution to an adsorber resin and elution of the purified extract with a suitable solvent from the adsorbent resin, wherein the biflavones to be removed remain on the adsorbent resin and with organic solvents such. As acetone can be eluted from the resin, so that it can be used again, and / or
- (c) applying the solution to an acidic ion exchanger and eluting the purified extract with a suitable solvent from the ion exchanger, leaving the 4'-O-methylpyridoxine to be removed on the ion exchanger and mixing with an acid such as e.g. B. aqueous hydrochloric acid can be washed by the ion exchanger, so that it can be used again, and optionally
- (D) concentration and drying of the extract solution to the dry extract, wherein the steps (b) and (c) can also be carried out in the reverse order.
B. Merck I oder Amberlite IR-120.Particularly suitable solvents in steps (a), (b) and (c) are, independently of one another, aqueous C 3 -C 6 ketones (eg acetone, 2-butanone) and C 1 -C 3 alkanols (methanol, ethanol, n-propanol and isopropanol), preferably aqueous acetone and ethanol, preferably at a concentration of 30 to 70% by weight. Preferred adsorbent resins in (b) are resins based on optionally substituted styrene / divinylbenzene base such as. Diaion HP-20, HP-21 or Sepabeads SP-207 and SP-850. Particularly preferred adsorbent resins are copolymers based on styrene or brominated styrene and divinylbenzene. Preferred ion exchangers in (c) are strongly acidic ion exchangers such. Merck I or Amberlite IR-120.
Out the starting solution (Ginkgo extract solution according to step (a)) becomes the starting extract used for baseline determination obtained by drying to dry extract.
Je nach Löslichkeit des Extrakts liegt der Wassergehalt des Lösungsmittels in dem vorstehend angegebenen Bereich von 30 bis 70 Gew.-%.at the method according to the invention in step (b), the amount of resin used and polarity or composition of the solvent used to coordinate each other so that the desired extract constituents first as possible Completely eluted from the resin while the biflavones remain on the resin. This results in a higher content of water in the solvent to a better depletion of the biflavones, i. to their whereabouts on the resin. Depending on solubility of the extract, the water content of the solvent is in the above specified range of 30 to 70 wt .-%.
