Abstract
Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft ein selbstexpandierbares Occlusionsinstrument (1) zum Verschließen eines Herzohres im Herzen eines Patienten sowie ein Verfahren zur Herstellung eines solchen Instruments. Das Occlusionsinstrument (1) besteht aus einem Geflecht (10) dünner Drähte oder Fäden, welches mittels eines Umformungs- und Wärmebehandlungsverfahrens eine geeignete Formgebung erhält. Im Einzelnen setzt sich das erfindungsgemäße Occlusionsinstrument (1) aus einem proximalen Retentionsbereich (2), einem distalen Retentionsbereich (3) und einem Mittenbereich (5) zusammen. Um zu erreichen, dass das Occlusionsinstrument im expandierten und implantierten Zustand besonders sicher in dem Herzohr des Patienten gehalten werden kann, ohne das Herzgewebe des Patienten zu verletzen, ist vorgesehen, dass der proximale Retentionsbereich (2) einen Krempenbereich (6) aufweist, der im expandierten Zustand des Occlusionsinstruments (1) in dem zu verschließenden Herzohr an den Innenwandungen des Herzohres zur Anlage kommt und mit den Innenwandungen des Herzohres eine kraftschüssige Verbindung bildet und somit das implantierte und expandierte Occlusionsinstrument (1) in dem Herzohr hält, wobei der distale Retentionsbereich (3) die Öffnung des Herzohres verschließt.
