Abstract
Description
Wind turbine with automated sail tensioning system that effectively tightens the sails and the current wind the sails or part of them at too high wind speeds can move in.
Of the Disadvantage of the usual Wind turbines is that the rotor blades in the end only one small surface volume feature and therefore can not effectively use the wind power there. If you mind one Rotor with an outdoor area very big surface would use, you would have make the diameter of the rotor smaller, otherwise in a storm too high forces on the rotor blades would work.
Therefore would it be meaningful rotor blades to use with an automated sail tensioning system that supports the Sail effectively harnesses the current wind and sails or part of it at too high wind speeds, to generate more energy in this way with a wind turbine to be able to.

1.4 Due to an adapted angle and the triangle formed by the tensioning ropes, as they are being pulled from the mast, there is a change in the length of the tensioning ropes (except for a suitably curved and aligned running track), which can be assisted by the tensioning elements (energy is stored, Depending on the variation, the tension ropes are automatically directed towards the rotor mast (usually more practical) or flee away from it (this effect can be exploited, but the sail shape must be considered). -
1.5 Elements for clamping the rotor -
1.6 Clamping elements which tension the tensioning cables (eg in the form of a spiral spring, which is installed in a simple device and compressed by it in tension - like a pneumatic cylinder with spring whose piston rod is pulled in one direction and its cylinder in the other direction while the spring is compressed by this movement, only that the device ect no compressed air connections and instead needs a mounting option for the tension cables). -
1.7 Tensioning cables for the sail. The sail (s1, s2, s3) is attached to or guided by the tensioning cables (S1, S2, S3), normally extends below the tensioning elements and can be tensioned by means of the running rail. -
1.8 Running track for the tensioning cables. The tensioning cables can be moved in the tracks of the track. In this example, the tension cables are moved in two tracks (Ls1 and Ls2) by two rodless pneumatic cylinders. The tensioning cable S1 is moved by the driver of the pneumatic cylinder of the first track (Ls1) and pulls in the same lane S2 by means of the sail s1 or by a reinforcement of the sail (eg rope) behind and tensioning cable S3 is the driver of the pneumatic cylinder of the second lane (Ls2) moves. Since the track in this example has 2 tracks (Ls1 and Ls2), S2 can be driven between S3 and the pad to the rotor mast (eg, by sliding it there and then moving it back to the height of S3 or S1 from the foremost one Position (fully tensioned sail) is moved to the height of S3 and S2 at the same time, by taking advantage of the energy stored in its tensioning element (see1.5 ), automatically escapes to the rotor mast, because the tensioning element can relax as a result of the change in length) and fold the entire sail into three layers. If S1 is now set so that only the sail area s1 and s3 are effectively tensioned, s2 is neatly folded halfway below s3 on the leeward side and S2 is at the level of S3. If all sails are driven to the rotor mast, the sail surface is about 6 × smaller, in addition could There is no need for a support element, so that the wind has almost no attack surface.

2.6 Running track for the tensioning cables. For the overload protection of the wind turbine, the sail must be automatically pulled in case of power failure or compressed air drop, which could eg by energy storage using the clamping elements (see1.5 ) or by a spring in or outside the pneumatic cylinder (in the event of a power failure, the pneumatic cylinder must vent automatically). You could also replace the pneumatic cylinder or by an electric motor that pulls the sail by a closed circuit to the chain in a suitable position and at the same time biases a spring, which provides especially in case of power failure for the automatic collection of the sail. The cylinder for the second track could also be replaced by a controllable driver of the cylinder of the first track (or omitted altogether - the tension cable S3 is pulled by the sail or by a reinforcement), in addition S3 should be able to engage in the cocked position (the catch would have to disengage for reasons of overload protection in case of power failure automatically). If the wind turbine can withstand the strongest wind locally, if the sail s3 remains taut, you could also mount it directly in a taut position. All three tensioning cables could also run in one lane, or a single lane could be provided for each tensioning cable. Furthermore, it would also be possible to make do with only one or two tension cables or more than 3 so 4, 5 or more tension cables to be considered In the design of the rotor, in particular, that the sail must always fold so that it does not damage can come and it looks visually neat. It is possible to regulate the automatic draw in so that the wind turbine is not overloaded and always achieves the best possible efficiency, for example by measuring the current wind speed and tensioning the sail as far as possible. -
2.7 Since the track in this example has 2 tracks (Ls1 and Ls2), S2 can be driven between S3 and the pad to the rotor mast (eg, by sliding it there and then moving it back to the height of S3 or S1 from the foremost one Position (fully tensioned sail) is moved to the height of S3 and S2 at the same time, by taking advantage of the energy stored in its tensioning element (see1.5 ), automatically escapes to the rotor mast, because the tensioning element can relax as a result of the change in length) and fold the entire sail into three layers. -

2.9 When all sails are driven to the rotor mast, the sail surface is about 6 × smaller, in addition there could be dispensed with a support element, so that the wind has almost no attack surface. -

3.1 On hinges, which can be folded from the top in one direction only (usually to the side facing away from the wind), strips are attached. These hinges are placed on the sails one above the other at appropriate intervals, and since they can only be folded in one direction, the sail will only be able to fold as intended. Since it makes sense above all to fold the sail in the direction away from the wind, there must be no support elements in front of the rotor mast, as far as there is room for folding. A pneumatic cylinder or a for Circle closed chain, which is driven by an electric motor or otherwise pulls tensioning cable S1 in the cocked position (if the wind is not too strong). S1 pulls due to the exploitation of the above (see1.5 described effect of the clamping elements only S2 and then S3 behind (if the tensioning cable or associated tensioning element is extended during clamping, it requires force to pull the tensioning cables away from the rotor mast), thereby ensuring that the sail between the tensioning cables at the rotor mast and not unlike where unfolded. Likewise, the process of folding (the tension cables are automatically pulled by the clamping elements to the rotor mast because the clamping elements can relax so). Particularly safe is the ability to use a circle closed conveyor chain for tensioning the sail with drivers for the respective tension cables, which ensure that the folding process can only take place when the rotor mast because otherwise the support surface is in the way. Otherwise, it would also be possible to provide the track with notches (eg for S2 and S3 directly at the rotor mast, so that the drive when folding in order only S3 and then S2 can pull to the mast - only useful if the tensioning cables not automatically by the clamping elements pulled to the rotor box), where the tension cables can snap into favorable positions to change the sail span with the help of a single drive and associated controllable driver. -
3.2 In this example, one track and one drive are sufficient. -
3.3 hinge -
3.4 hinge strip -
3.5 sail -
3.6 Support elements (can be omitted for simplicity and safety) -
3.7 Example of a sail with hinges -
3.8 Between the hinges, a rope can be stretched and fastened to the sail - a connection between sail and hinge can be dispensed with and a smaller number of hinges is necessary to neatly fold the sail. -
3.9 Instead of hinges also bending elements (eg of rubber and plastic) can be used, which are seen from above either over the entire length or partially roundish and cause the sail neatly folds in one direction, if the sail is not already anyway this or similar, due to the materials used, behaves. Thanks to the wind, the sail would be favored to be folded on the side away from the wind, and if in exceptional cases it would fold on the windward side, the construction would have to allow it. If the sail is made of appropriate materials so that it folds due to the material properties automatically reasonably neat (or at least without damage) in one direction, can be dispensed with supporting reinforcements. -
3.10 The hinges can also be replaced by right and left reinforcements (eg made of rubber) without joints, which cause the sail to fold properly to one side. The intended fold could be taken into account in the manufacture of sail and be replaced or supplemented with particularly flexible materials. -
3.11 The sail can also o.ä by ropes. reinforced, which have a similar effect as the support elements. -
3.12 Other examples of the rotor a wind turbine with sail tensioning system. -
3.13 The sail is unrolled or rolled up as needed from a roll. Unroll eg by a rodless pneumatic cylinder and roll up eg by a tension spring for the sail roller. Instead, the sail can also be folded using tension cables. -
3.14 Sail (can be supported by support elements). -
3.15 Thus, the sail can be pulled out parallel to the role, such as a guide can be used (once in built-in and once dismantled state). -

- 2. Wind turbine with rotatable tower. The tower stands on a round rotatable base plate (or a rotatable frame or framework) and can be rotated together with this. On the circular base plate support elements or elements for clamping can be attached, which rotate with each other and which can therefore be positioned so that they are not in the way of the rotor (see drawings).
1 ).
If you support a wind turbine or This has the advantage that the tower itself is less again was able against the transferred rotor forces and against their own wind resistance, and that is why through the tower, incurring less on acquisition (e.g. less material costs ect). But unfortunately you can many wind turbines not or only badly by supports support or clamp with appropriate means, because the rotor is in the way or because the plant for Maintenance and repair work is often difficult to access.

- 3. Rotor blades of a wind turbine with safety rope to ensure greater safety. If the material breaks, the broken part is held by a rope and can not fall off (see drawings)

Materials in Ihrer Leitfähigkeit
nachlassen.
The usual rotor blades are often subjected to lengthy and costly testing procedures before you go for Wind turbines are used.

Das

liegt.

Natural frequency is the frequency at which the blade vibrates once it hits it in one direction. A blade has different natural frequencies in the two load directions: over its longitudinal edge, rotor blades are stiffer and therefore have a higher natural frequency in this plane. Each blade is vibrated by an electric motor mounted on the blade that moves a weight up and down. The foundation for this test has to be very firm: it consists of 2,000 tonnes of concrete.

By Rotor blade testing is guaranteed safety. If the manufacturing process of rotor blades so reliable is designed, the material error ect occur very rarely, it would be possible cost-effective rotor blades with rope safety directly and without a costly test procedure to install in the wind turbines and if it ever at a Plant should come to a break the rotor blade or the rotor blades of to replace affected wind turbine.

In This illustration is the principle for a wind turbine with automated sail tensioning system that effectively adjusts to the wind force an example illustrates. For simplicity's sake only a rotor blade shown. The possibility of a rotatable tower was also taken into account in this figure - but neither of them has to be compatible with each other be combined. The rotor is here on the leeward Side of the tower, but can also be used on the windward side become.

1.3 Support elements over which the sail is stretched (neglected in the side view). They serve as a base and the shape of the sail, but can also be completely or partially omitted. The support elements themselves should usually offer the wind as little resistance surface as possible. -
1.4 Due to an adapted angle and the triangle formed by the tensioning ropes, as they are being pulled from the mast, there is a change in the length of the tensioning ropes (except for a suitably curved and aligned running track), which can be assisted by the tensioning elements (energy is stored, Depending on the variation, the tension ropes are automatically directed towards the rotor mast (usually more practical) or flee away from it (this effect can be exploited, but the sail shape must be considered). -
1.5 Elements for clamping the rotor -
1.6 Clamping elements which tension the tensioning cables (eg in the form of a spiral spring, which is installed in a simple device and compressed by it in tension - like a pneumatic cylinder with spring whose piston rod is pulled in one direction and its cylinder in the other direction while the spring is compressed by this movement, only that the device ect no compressed air connections and instead needs a mounting option for the tension cables). -
1.7 Tensioning cables for the sail.
When all sails are driven to the rotor mast, the sail surface is about 6 × smaller, in addition there could be dispensed with a support element, so that the wind has almost no attack surface.

2.2 Support for tensioning cable -
2.3 Stored rolls -
2.4 Driver for the roles of the rodless pneumatic cylinder -
2.5 Rodless pneumatic cylinder -
2.6 Running track for the tensioning cables. Furthermore, it would also be possible to make do with only one or two tension cables or more than 3 so use 4, 5 or more tension cables. In the design of the rotor, it should be noted that the sail always has to fold so that it can not be damaged and that it looks visually neat.
2.8 If S1 is now set so that only the sail area s1 and s3 are effectively tensioned, s2 is neatly folded halfway below s3 on the leeward side and S2 is at the level of S3. -
2.9 When all sails are driven to the rotor mast, the sail surface is about 6 × smaller, in addition there could be dispensed with a support element, so that the wind has almost no attack surface.

A pneumatic cylinder or a closed circuit chain, driven by an electric motor or otherwise, pulls tensioning cable S1 into the cocked position (if the wind is not too strong). S1 pulls due to the exploitation of the above (see1.5 ) described the effect of the tensioning elements first S2 and then S3 behind them (if the tensioning cable or the corresponding tensioning element at Clamping is extended, it requires force to pull the tension cables from the rotor mast), thereby ensuring that the sail unfolds between the tension cables in the rotor mast and not otherwise.
3.16 A rodless pneumatic cylinder can take off the sail. -
3.17 The rails give tension to the sail.
