Zum Schutz eines Gegenstandes vor Fälschung oder Kopieren und/oder zum Erkennen der Echtheit eines vor Fälschung oder Kopieren zu schützenden Gegenstandes ohne ein Prüfgerät ist DOLLAR A a) in oder mit dem vor Fälschung oder Kopieren zu schützenden Gegenstand wenigstens eine Sendeeinrichtung (10) zum, insbesondere autonomen, Aussenden von im sichtbaren Lichtspektrum liegenden Licht, zumindest dann, wenn Umgebungslicht zum Betrachten des Gegenstandes zur Verfügung steht, integriert, DOLLAR A b) wobei sich das Licht der Sendeeinrichtung(en) in der Intensität und/oder der spektralen Zusammensetzung zeitlich verändert und DOLLAR A c) wobei die zeitliche Änderung des Lichts so gewählt oder eingestellt ist, dass sie vom menschlichen Sehsinn wahrnehmbar ist.
