Abstract

Ein Schmiersystem für einen Verbrennungsmotor besitzt einen Druckregler, um einen Öldurchfluss durch einen Motor zu optimieren und damit einen Motorwirkungsgrad zu erhöhen. Das Schmiersystem umfasst eine motorgetriebene Ölpumpe, die so verbunden ist, dass sie unter Druck stehendes Öl durch eine Hauptölzufuhr an einen Hauptlagerdurchgang, einen Nockendurchgang und eine hydraulisch betätigte Vorrichtung, wie z. B. einen Nockenphasensteller und Schaltventilstößel, liefert. Ein Druckregler, der zwischen der Hauptölzufuhr und den Durchgängen verbunden ist, beschränkt selektiv einen Öldurchfluss zu den Durchgängen, um den an die hydraulisch betätigte Vorrichtung gelieferten Öldruck zu erhöhen. Der erhöhte Öldruck zu dem Nockenphasensteller erlaubt, dass der Motor eine kleinere Ölpumpe verwenden kann und dadurch der Motorwirkungsgrad gesteigert wird, während für eine Betätigung des Nockenphasenstellers über den gesamten Motordrehzahlbereich gesorgt wird. Der erhöhte Öldruck zu den Schaltstößeln erlaubt, dass der Motor einen Ventilhub verringern oder Zylinder über den gesamten Motordrehzahlbereich abschalten kann.
