Ein Turbinengenerator (ein motorbetriebener Turbolader) wird zur Stromerzeugung betrieben, wenn das Ausgangsdrehmoment einer Brennkraftmaschine begrenzt werden soll, so dass gleichzeitig eine Energierückgewinnung und eine Begrenzung der Ausgangsleistung der Brennkraftmaschine erreicht wird.
