Abstract

Industrial installation e.g. pipes, groups of pipes and/or channel sidewalls that are exposed to very high temperatures, have a protective coating of chrome-carbide applied by a flame-spray process. The surfaces of the heat-stressed components have a first layer covering layer consisting of oxidized chrome-carbide steel, and an outer layer of oxidized pure aluminum. The inner and outer layers are separated by a series of ant-wear layers consisting of varying ratios of chrome and/or chrome carbide.
