Abstract

The controllable transformer assembly has a voltage (Uprim) primary coil (1) making several turns round a first magnetic core (4). It also tales several turns round first (5) and second (6) subsidiary cores. The secondary coil (2) is wound round the first magnetic core only. The transformer may work as a step-up transformer supplying a voltage (Usec) to a fluorescent UV lamp tube. A control voltage (Usteuer) is applied to coils (3a,3b) round the subsidiary magnetic cores only oppose the primary voltage and reduce the effectiveness of the primary transformer.
