Abstract

A controlled electric voltage transformer which is formed by at least one magnetic core; at least one primary winding; at least one secondary winding, such that the primary winding or the secondary winding or both windings have a series of outlets; and a device for switching the outlets in order to adjust, within a predetermined range of adjustment values, the transformation ratio between the primary winding and the secondary winding, such that the switching device switches some outlets from the first series of outlets, at the beginning of a half-cycle of the alternating electric current supplied to the transformer. A description is provided in turn of a device for switching outlets and a method for adjusting the transformation ratio of a transformer, the method comprising the steps of determining that an adjustment of the transformation ratio between the primary winding and the secondary winding is required, such that the adjustment is within a predetermined range of adjustment value s; and switching of some outlets from the first series of outlets, at the start of a half-cycle of the alternating electric current supplied to the transformer.
