Abstract

The engine has a rotor and a diffuser for flow direction of a fluid. The diffuser has a radially external lining (1), with a structure radially carried on the inside (2) as well as a rotor laterally positioned and two rings forming seal diaphragms (3). The seal diaphragms have a radial outer edge (4) in a lining-lateral groove (5) and a radial interior edge (6) projects into a carrying-structure-lateral groove (7). A seal is formed between the lining and the carrying structure. The seal diaphragms project projecting into slots with a radial clearance. In circumferential direction a supporting element (8) is firmly arranged at the respective seal diaphragm and a seal is firmly arranged at the carrying structure, where the supporting element rests radially and relocatable against a sealing element (9). The sealing element at the interior edge of the respective seal diaphragm cooperates with a front and or with a back seal. The sealing element embraces the interior edge of the seal diaphragm and aligned to the carry-structure-lateral groove. The carrying structure has a recess within the sealing element.
