Abstract
The narrow emitter regions are arranged along the longitudinal or slow axis (6) of the laser diode block (4). Optical fibers (8) have special wedge-shaped ends (80) for collecting (5) the light from the laser emitter regions. The optical fibers are gathered together in a round bundle (9) enclosed in a tubular sheath (10). There is a microcooler (2) on the other side of the laser diode block.
