Description
The invention relates to a radar reflector in the form of a cylindrical, conical, prismatic or similarly designed body, the surface of which is covered with angled or triple mirror, and they consists in that the angle or cube-corner mirror 5 through perpendicular to the lateral surfaces of the support body arranged, running in a right-angled zigzag sheet metal strips are formed. Here the The number of sheet metal strips of the reflective body is expediently chosen so that the reflective characteristics two vertical rows of cube-corner mirrors intersect in the horizontal plane, where the angle they form with one another is at most equal to the width at half maximum. This measure but only has in connection with the application of the perpendicular to the lateral surfaces of the Supporting body arranged in a right-angled zigzag sheet metal strips inventive importance, because the reflection characteristic of triple mirrors is known per se.
It is advantageous to manufacture the reflector mirror from so-called expanded metal, i.e. from sheet metal, in which short slots are punched or cut at regular short intervals, whereupon the whole panel is stretched in the direction perpendicular to the course of the slot, making rhombic or square openings arise.
It is also advisable to manufacture the reflectors from light metal in a manner known per se.
The fixed or rotatable radar reflectors according to the invention can be used individually or collectively be mounted on a scaffold or a column. The training can also be chosen so that the reflectors form the fixed or rotatable extension of a column. The fixed substructure or the column can be fixed in the upper area, but still below the rotatable reflector, reflectors forming a circular or sector-shaped reflection characteristic, whose size is noticeably smaller than that of the rotating reflectors above. The usage a column supporting the radar reflector has the advantage of significantly lower foundation and Installation costs compared to other arrangements, it is also advantageous that the circular cross-section enables the same area exposed to wind from all sides.
The invention is shown in the drawing by way of example and schematically, and it means 1 shows a side view of the radar reflector, FIG. 2 shows a plan view according to FIG. 1 and FIG 3 shows a diagram of a reflector seated on a column according to FIGS. 1 and 2.

As FIGS. 1 and 2 indicate, the mirrors formed from sheet aluminum strips 1 sit on the support body 2 with a polygonal cross section. According to the example according to FIG. 3, this body I 1 2 is fixedly or rotatably mounted on a self-supporting column 4 or is braced by ropes. The height H 2 of the column 4 can be, for example, 9 m and the height H 1 of the reflection body 1.2, for example, 6 m. A rotary drive for the reflection body 1, 2 can be mounted in the interior of the column 4. 1 to 3 represent only one example of the manifold design possibilities of the reflection body and its substructure or its column. In FIG. 2, the axes 3 of the reflection characteristics are indicated by dashed lines.
