Abstract

The friction resistance of a ship's hull as the ship passes through the water can be reduced by partly covering the hull with a thin layer of air or other gas. This is done by running gas channels through the hull to gas outlet jets. The gas can be supplied by means of negative pressure or by a compressor. The process can be applied to existing ships by retrofitting the channel system.

Description

For existing ship or boat hulls, the installation of the Design the gas outlet nozzles and the supply lines in the fuselage quite complex, see above that a solution to the problem with outside gas channels on the fuselage offering. These channels with the gas outlet nozzles are mainly in the underwater area attached to the hull of the watercraft taking into account the current conditions. The The gas supply is primarily carried out by the method already described Main deck of the watercraft.

Ein Ausführungsbeispiel soll die Erfindung näher erläutern: An exemplary embodiment is intended to explain the invention in more detail:

1 by FIG., The principle of the fixed externally on a vessel or boat hull gas channels with the gas outlet nozzle.

Claims (2)

1. A method for reducing the frictional resistance in watercraft, characterized in that a thin gas layer is introduced between the hull and the surrounding water, which partially or completely covers the part of the hull located in the water. 2.
2. A method for reducing the frictional resistance in watercraft according to claim 1, characterized in that
that the gas outlet nozzles are attached to gas-carrying channels, which are attached to the outside of the boat hull in the underwater area and suck in the gas or air above the water surface,
that several channels are distributed over the hull.
