Die Trockenstufen erhalten zweckmäfsig die Gestalt von Kreissectoren, so dafs der ganze Apparat die Form eines Cylinders mit vorspringenden Tragesäulen besitzt. Die Trockenstufen selbst, deren Grölse vortheilhaft so bemessen wird, dafs sie von einer Säule bis zur nächsten reichen, bilden eine Art Wendeltreppe, auf deren Stufen das Trockengut allmälig herabgleitet.
