Hier jedoch erhält das Flügelrad nicht die obere Decke mit den Saugelöchern, sondern diese fällt ganz fort, um den Eintritt der Maische längs der Nabe auf der ganzen Breite des Rades zu gestatten. Die Neigung der Flügel gegen die Rotationsebene ist eine solche, dafs durch die Umdrehung die in der Richtung des Pfeiles aus dem Saugerohr .S in den Apparat eintretende Maische von den Flügeln unter gleichzeitiger Centrifugation nach dem Rande gegen die Mahlfläche M gedrückt und hier zerrieben wird.
