Abstract
Description
B. Browser Plug-in) kommuniziert. The invention relates to the field of instant messaging; IN THE. Instant messaging; IM is a service that is developing dynamically in the fixed network is currently used by more than 170 million users. The known methods and methods in instant messaging; IM are based on the principle of a center Server that is connected to specific modules of the permanently connected to the Internet End system (e.g. browser plug-in) communicates. The functions are in the Interaction client-server implemented. All relevant are on the central server Information summarized for a user group. This information can be sent to the needs of a user group are adapted. Instant messaging services; IN THE currently enable extensive functionalities of IP-based devices. The Possibilities range from simple direct text exchange (see Internet Chat) to to support telephone connections over the Internet (VoIP via SIP - Session Initiated Protocol) and to control video conference systems. there can instant messaging systems existing office applications (email, central Calendar function - MSOutlook) supplement and e.g. T. replace as all important Communication components (file transfer, audio and video connections, administration central server etc.) can also be implemented using instant messaging (see http: // slides / pulver.com).
Because in the known IM configurations of instant messaging services Information mostly has to be adapted to the needs of the user group also all members of a user group about changes of certain states are informed (e.g. user X is no longer at the workplace, but only via Mobile phone reachable etc.). In large user groups, the well-known Solutions a high traffic load because information with similar or the same Information content is transmitted individually to all users of the user group have to. This is also associated with a high cost.
- - z. T. keine Browserfunktionalität im Endsystem
- - sehr hohe Varianz der Endsysteme bzgl. ihrer Leistungsfähigkeit (Display, Speicher, Zugangsgeschwindigkeit)
- - Abbildung des Instant-Messaging-Dienstes; IM in Java-fähigen Endsystemen
- - Integration of location determination
- - Integration of SMS functions in instant messaging; IN THE
- - Use of WAP / XML for instant, messaging; IN THE
- - e.g. T. no browser functionality in the end system
- - very high variance of the end systems with regard to their performance (display, memory, access speed)
- - Imaging of the instant messaging service; IM in Java-enabled end systems
According to the invention, the desired IM functions, such as those from the fixed network are known, preferably mapped to Java classes and modules and as Java Server functions stored on a Java IM server. For the realization of the The method requires a terminal device that is Java-capable and that is on the IM Server-stored IM functions supported. However, it is also possible instead of Java another object-oriented, platform-independent description language to implement.
The transfer of the IM functions (group information) from the IM server to According to the invention, the terminal of the participant of a group takes the form of Broadcast information via separate channels (DVB-T or DAB data channels) be transmitted. The subscriber's end device is therefore additionally equipped with a DAB / DVB receiver equipped.
- 4. Das DAB/DVB-T-System muss entsprechend Rückkanal-fähig sein.
- 1. The IM server is coupled to the play-out center of the DAB / DVB service in order to distribute multicast information via this channel. The multicast information represents the known body list, which is distributed to all or to selected subscribers of the corresponding user group with current data via restrictions (multicast functions) which are possible in the DAB / DVB system.
- 2. The mobile end system of the subscriber / user must be expanded in such a way that information about GPRS / UMTS (bidirectional) and about DAB / DVB (reception only) can be processed at the same time. This requires an extension of GPRS / UMTS end systems (cell phone) by a receiving part for DAB or DVB.
- 3. The IM server should be able to simultaneously output data (group information) to be sent to many users via a separate interface. The DAB / DVB play-out center is connected to this interface. For dedicated users, the data is distributed using existing GPRS / UMTS systems.
- 4. The DAB / DVB-T system must be capable of return channels accordingly.
The invention is described on the basis of an exemplary embodiment based on a GSM or GPRS / UMTS mobile radio network, in which the customer's terminal is a mobile terminal, such as a cell phone (see FIG. 1).
Corresponding Java functions are integrated into the mobile end system (cell phone / PDA) implemented. This happens because in the subscriber's mobile end system, which is designed for example as a cell phone, a Java machine is integrated. The In addition to the GPRS / UMTS interfaces, cell phones also have one DAB / DVB receiver, which is implemented using DAB / DVB interface cards. To the Mobile laptops with Java machines (e.g. Standard Internet Explorer) with 2 network interface cards (GPRS or GSM as a bidirectional channel, W-LAN for emulating DAB / DVB-T signal behavior). The instant messaging service; IM is then mapped over the two channels.
One area of application of the solution is preferably seen in vehicles, since here avoided the problem of the high power requirements of DAB / DVB receivers can be.
As shown in Fig. 1, the end system (cell phone) is a computer-supported device with different possible operating systems, such as Windows 2000, Windows CE, Linux or MHP for radio receivers, which can operate at least two different network interfaces such as GSM / UMTS and DAB / DVB. On the basis of Java technologies (Jini, APIS), the platform should be highly flexible so that additional new devices and services can be easily added in the future. The mobile phone must support a number of network-related tasks, such as intelligent network search or handover between different networks or within a physical network.
Eine verteilte Architektur gewährleistet die Erweiterbarkeit des hybriden Netzwerkes, wobei folgende Eigenschaften Berücksichtigung finden: The network architecture is designed so that a mobile user has a universal, transparent data channel with interaction options is available. The network is based on an open IP-based architecture, which can be any combination of Broadcasting and / or mobile cellular networks allowed. A distributed architecture ensures the expandability of the hybrid network, the following Take properties into account:
The system allows a scalable network structure according to the requirements the network operator and the services to be transmitted. Different types of Devices with different equipment and functionality should be supported become.
The network functionality is transparent to the participants. The participants do not care about the physical way in which the services reach the relevant end devices. The participants should have an adequate variety of services, which is comparable to stationary services in buildings, even in moving objects, such as in vehicles.
Encryption mechanisms can be implemented over the broadcast network become. The mobile network already offers mechanisms for a secure Data transfer to. For m-commerce and other transaction services is a safe one and to ensure reliable processing in the transmission of data.
The process is based on existing DVB and DAB standards for broadcasting and for cellular mobile networks such as GSM, GPRS and in the future UMTS. It puts a solution to integrate these networks is available.
The network reference model shown in Fig. 1 illustrates the basic structure of the network. Contents and services in different formats and from different sources have to be provided and processed. This includes functions such as handover, resource, downlink, uplink and subscriber management. The "Mobile Access Network" transports the data to the terminal. It comprises the indirect radio channel and the bidirectional mobile radio channel. With the terminal, the user is able to receive the services offered according to his terminal functionality and his profile.
The radio telephone acts as a GPRS modem. The protocol stack in the PC is like this modified that multicast information to update the body list over DVB-T data channel (IP-based) can be received and the other IM Functions are mapped in parallel using GPRS.
Fig. 2 zeigt die Interaktionen zwischen Rundfunksystemen DVB und DAB mit bestehenden GSM/GPS/GPRS-Systemen. Fig. 2 shows the interactions between broadcasting systems DVB and DAB with existing GSM / GPS / GPRS systems.
The method presented contributes significantly to instant messaging applications to adapt optimally to the conditions in the LP-addressed mobile network, and remains nevertheless simple and highly scalable, since the central server only has limited data individual users need to convert. The integration of DAB / DVB uses the limited; Resources in the mobile radio area optimal, since information for larger User groups via the broadcast channel in DAB / DVB (with conditional access) can be distributed.
The solution according to the invention can be advantageous for access networks such as GPRS and Use UMTS because these networks implement a permanent IP connection and because of that future end systems (cell phone, PDA) Java machines can be implemented. In this context, the support of JAVA / XML realizes a Decoupling hardware functionality and service functions. The solution is there not just limited to Java-enabled systems, but other systems as well conceivable that on another object-oriented, platform-independent Description language based.
Systeme ohne permanten IP-Zugang (z. B. Basis SMS) werden mit Verfahren der Agententechnologie unterstützt. Systems without permanent IP access (e.g. basic SMS) are operated using the Agent technology supported.
