Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a method and an apparatus for Simulation of a person's hearing.
It is a variety of detection methods and apparatus and quantify a person's hearing. Relatives of the person, however, have no possibility of it drive how the person actually acoustically surrounds their surroundings perceives. Hearing loss was reported to third parties, e.g. B. Relatives egg hearing impaired, so far only based on an audiogram explained. The basis for this was the qualification and experience the assessor, e.g. B. a hearing care professional, otolaryngologist etc. However, it is hardly possible for third parties to use this assessment to gain an impression of the person's hearing.
The object of the present invention is a method like this how to specify an apparatus that enable third parties to give an impression of a person's hearing.
The invention is achieved by a method with the features len of claim 1. The individual process steps can also be in a different order than the be to be written. Advantageous process variants ten are given in claims 2-8. Furthermore, the problem solved by an apparatus according to the features of claim 9. Advantageous further developments are in the claims 10-16 specified.
In the process of simulating the hearing of a person Son, especially a person with hearing loss, first becomes hearing assets of this person. There are a lot of them for this Test methods and equipment known to which not here to be discussed here. Important for the procedure according to The invention is that the hearing ability as comprehensive as possible Is tested. For this, the person can have real-typical reverse exercise situations are presented. Such situations are for example a conversation situation with a or several other people involved, a conversation situation tion in an environment with noises, the stay in the car, on the road, etc. These situations will occur preferably in a specially furnished room, the so mentioned measuring room, presented, with a possible un falsified reproduction of the corresponding situations should be done. The measuring room with one is advantageous acoustic surround system and also a visu All support to simulate the corresponding situation onen is desirable. The person can do this during the Tests e.g. B. wear 3D video glasses. As a result, the Per son put in a virtual situation that hardly any to differentiate between the corresponding real situation.
From the Sub made in the manner described above Searches are derived from parameters that determine hearing characterize the person concerned as comprehensively as possible. To an third party, for example relatives of the person to convey pressure from the hearing of the person concerned, test signals are provided. These test signals can agree with the listening situations that lead the person to the Er were presented with their hearing. Below who which the test signals are adapted to the hearing of the person, d. that is, they are changed so that a person with normal hearing gains the same auditory impression that the person has on the dargebo test signals. Are the adjusted test signals then presented to a third party, he wins an on pressure from the person's hearing.
The test signals can be presented in the same environment take place and represent the same situations that also was presented to the person to measure their hearing are. The virtual reality generated in this way is as correct as possible exactly match real situations.
The third party is preferably given an unchanged one Test signal as well as the corresponding, to the hearing of the Person presents customized test signal so that the sub recognized as well as possible as a result of the direct comparison is cash.
In one embodiment of the invention, one creates cha characterization of the hearing ability of the person first an Au diogramm. For this purpose, the Hearing threshold and the discomfort threshold of the person he summarizes and introduced into the system. Carrying out this Hearing tests can be done automatically, e.g. B. controlled by a interactive software, or manually in connection with little at least one other person, e.g. B. an acoustician. Also one Combination of these two options comes in Be costume. The test signals are then adjusted under Be taking into account the data obtained in this way. This will signal proportions below the hearing threshold from the test filtered out and signal components above the Discomfort threshold are so far reinforced that they even a person with normal hearing feels unbearably loud.
The characterization of a person's hearing alone however, there is usually little in the data of the audiogram meaningful. For example, it gives the situation that Language is heard, but not understood, only fully come back insufficiently. Therefore, with another Embodiment of the invention also speech audiometric Un examinations were carried out on the person. The won from it Parameters are then also used when adapting the test sig taken into account. Speech audiometric examinations take sentence tests, rhyme tests etc. and give up in general conclusion about the understanding of language. Results in one ger test, for example, that language is only 50% understood the test signals are adjusted so that a normal hearing person the language contained in the test signal in Can also only understand means to 50%.
In another embodiment of the invention, psy Choacoustic parameters of the person obtained and at the An fit and presentation of test signals taken into account. This Parameters can be the comfort impression or the Characterize the person's volume perception. It can that a person with hearing loss does not perceive "quiet" signals, Signals with medium volume as "quiet" and "loud" signals are perceived as loud as normal hearing the. This feeling is then transferred to the test signals as a further example of such parameters temporal resolution or overlap effects called. This provide information about whether signals are in quick succession are still perceptible as separate signals or for which Duration of quiet signals after a previous loud sig can not be perceived. Such subs Test results will be beneficial for customizing the test signals used.
Because the characterization of the hearing is as comprehensive as possible a multitude of objective measurements how to take into account subjective feelings of the person are creating a mathematical context hardly possible to quantify hearing. Hence him the hearing can be quantified advantageously below Use of fuzzy logic and / or a neural structure in signal processing. In addition, the Quantifi adornment of hearing also with the involvement of Exper knowledge. Just like the detection of hearing is also the adaptation of the test signals to that determined Hearing is difficult to describe mathematically. Therefore Here, too, the signal processing is preferably carried out under Use of fuzzy logic and / or neural structures. Expert knowledge can also be included here.
According to a particularly preferred embodiment of the invention a person's hearing ability is determined the simulation of the hearing thus determined with one and the same apparatus. Become the person. Test signals presented and objective and subjective parameters in response to the stimuli presented are recorded. The system uses this to determine Characteristics for the quantification of the hearing ability of the person. The test signal is in turn based on the parameters determined in this way adapted to simulate the hearing of the person and the test signals changed in this way using a third party presented to the same apparatus.
In the case of further development, the system can also be adapted solution of a hearing aid to the hearing impaired become. To do this, include from the obtained with the system send characterization of hearing ability parameters on provision of a hearing aid to care for the person Right. The effect of the hearing aid can then also be advantageous device taking into account the determined parameters with be included in the simulation. A third party then receives also the opportunity to get an idea of how a person perceives their surroundings acoustically when they are with a certain hearing aid is supplied.
The invention is described below using an exemplary embodiment described. The figure shows a system for detection the hearing ability of a person and to simulate hearing assets.
With the system shown schematically in the figure, the hearing ability of a hearing impaired person 1 can be determined. To provide test signals, the system has a stimulation unit 2 . An acoustic surround system with the loudspeakers 3 A, 3 B, 3 C and 3 D as well as 3D video glasses 4 ensure the best possible replica of realistic environmental situations. In order to characterize the hearing ability of person 1 , subjective and objective reactions of person 1 to the stimuli are recorded and evaluated. In detail, these can be subjective sensations of person 1 on the stimuli presented, which, for. B. detected via an input unit 5 . Furthermore, the sound pressure level in front of the drum or otoacoustic emissions can be measured via the sensor 6 in the external auditory canal of the person 1 . The measurement of brain stem potentials in response to the stimuli presented by means of a sensor 7 is also provided. Another input unit 8 can also be used by another person, e.g. B. an acoustician, inputs to characterization of the hearing of person 1 are introduced into the system. A processor unit 9 is used for data processing and for controlling the overall system. The processor unit 9 in the exemplary embodiment comprises a neural network 10 for quantifying the inputs introduced into the system. With the system of this type, various tests for characterizing the hearing ability of person 1 can be carried out by presenting appropriate stimuli. Among other things, these are tests for generating an audiogram of a person, which reflects the hearing threshold and the uncomfortable threshold in different frequency ranges. Furthermore, for. B. to determine the speech intelligibility also speech audiometric tests can be carried out. In order to carry out such tests as conveniently as possible, the system is equipped with a microphone 12 , which allows the person 1 to input speech for processing in the processor unit 9 . Thus, sentences 1 A to 3 D issued by the loudspeaker 3 - as they understood them - can be repeated and evaluated by means of automatic speech recognition in the processor unit 9 . From the inputs supplied to the processor unit 9 , these parameters are calculated with regard to the hearing ability of the person. Now another person is placed in the same system instead of the person who wants to get an impression of the hearing of the hearing impaired person 1 . Test signals provided in the stimulation unit 2 of the system can match the test signals for determining the hearing of the hearing impaired. They are then adjusted to the hearing ability of the hearing impaired person with the help of the determined parameters for characterizing the hearing ability, so that for the normal hearing third party the same hearing impression is created that the hearing impairment gene has on the test signals presented. For this purpose, the stimulation unit 2 and the processor unit 9 are connected to one another via the signal paths 11 A and 11 B. The system according to the exemplary embodiment is designed such that person 1 can be both a hearing impaired person whose hearing ability is to be tested and a normal hearing third party who would like to gain an impression of the hearing impaired person's hearing ability.
In a preferred embodiment, the processor unit 9 can simulate the effect of different hearing aids. For example, a specific hearing aid device can be selected via the input units 5 or 8 . Then the test signals presented via the stimulation unit 2 are adjusted in the processor unit 9 , taking into account the mode of operation of this hearing aid. This enables the third party to give an impression of the hearing ability of the person 1 with the support of a hearing aid device as well as without a hearing aid device.
Dieser be kommt dadurch einen realistischen Eindruck vom Hörvermögen der Person 1.In summary, in order to simulate the hearing of a person 1 , in particular a person with hearing impairment, the hearing of person 1 is first recorded. In the following, test signals are adapted to the hearing ability determined in this way and presented to a third party, in particular a person with normal hearing. This gives him a realistic impression of the hearing ability of person 1 .
