Description
Process for hydrogen sulfide removal from gases The invention relates to a method for removing hydrogen sulfide from gases. To the state of Technique should be noted that a hydrogen sulfide removal from gases by means of solid absorbents or adsorbents, e.g. B. with activated carbon using Oxygen, is known. However, this method only allows an intermittent one Work, because after a certain time the sulfur excreted from the gas the Coal surface covers, so that after switching off the coal from the gas path, regeneration the same by washing it several times with liquid containing less and less polysulphide and subsequent evaporation and cooling must be carried out. This intermittent Working in industrial processes is cumbersome, time-consuming and costly, so that in practice it could not gain acceptance on a large scale.
In the method according to the invention for removing hydrogen sulfide from gases they become. Gases with absorbents or adsorbents, such as activated carbon, under Addition of oxygen and cleaned at the same time the absorbents or adsorbents z. B. with sulfide or polysulfide solution or other solvents for regeneration washed. Hierbe.i has shown that the contact effect of the wet activated carbon compared to dry coal can be less, which is why in the method according to the In accordance with the invention, the layer length of the activated carbon or that with the gas is expedient the surface of the activated carbon particles or other adsorbents coming into contact or absorbents is enlarged. For this reason, the invention continues proposed absorbents or adsorbents with in a known manner by form training increased surface area and gas and liquid in cocurrent or countercurrent to lead through the molded body. As such a form development known per se has z. B. a ring shape, but better a Sabtclfolrm, proven. Moldings, which are formed like a saddle and thus run in different directions Segment ring formations exist, have the advantage of being piled up in an unregulated manner to be able to and thereby particularly large surfaces of the gas and the liquid to offer both cocurrent and countercurrent. This will make a good one Excretion of hydrogen sulfide, e.g. B. from coke oven gases, flue gases, industrial Exhaust, etc., made possible.
The advantages achieved by the invention can be seen in that in industrial plants for the removal of hydrogen sulfide from gases in place the previously only known intermittent work means continuous work is made possible. This makes the operation of plants for the removal of hydrogen sulphides made much easier from gases.
