Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a method for producing an electrically conductive Connection between a flat material that is made up entirely or partially There is carbon fiber and a metallic contact band.
The flat material consisting entirely or partially of carbon fibers preferably a fleece or felt made of carbon fiber sections, which may be under Use of binders to a more or less flexible paper-like product are interconnected. The flat material but can also consist of a textile-like material in which carbon fiber threads are processed into a knitted or woven fabric. Also come into consideration unidirectional fabrics consisting of individual threads or filaments as well Threads, strips or borders, according to one of the above Processes are made.
Flat materials that consist entirely or partially of carbon fibers are often used to convert electrical energy into sensible heat, used for example as a heating element for interior parts of motor vehicles with which the occupants are in constant contact with, especially for seats and backrests of motor vehicle seats and for steering wheel covers. For these applications it is important that the existing Carbon fiber material used as completely as possible as an ohmic resistor the required heating output with the least possible material expenditure to be able to realize. This goal can only be achieved with optimal electrical Contact between the flat material and the electrical leads can be achieved for this purpose mainly as metallic strips are trained.
A method that is widely used is to use a flat material Layer of good electrical conductivity, preferably enriched with silver Apply glue and press on the metallic contact tape. Usually heat is still required to harden the adhesive accelerate. This method is too expensive and too expensive for mass production time consuming.
Another known method, which is continuous Establishing an electrically conductive connection between a contact strip and the edges of an elongated sheet of sheet material has the metallic contact tape is folded around the edges of the web and as previously described using a thermosetting adhesive connected to the edges of the material web. However, it turned out that this method is not suitable for further processing if the Material web must be wound up and down several times. On the folded edges can easily occur kinks and breaks that are even Conflict with current distribution.
Electro-conductive adhesive tapes are also known. This is a metallic contact tape with a self-adhesive, very low-resistance Acetate adhesive is coated. The disadvantage of such self-adhesive tapes is that here only the outer filaments of the flat Materials are contacted and that at the contact point is not permanent Contact pressure exists. Contacts made by this method are In practical use, it can only be regarded as functionally reliable if it lie horizontally and weighed down with a static minimum trailer load become.
There is therefore the task of a method of the type mentioned propose that does not have the aforementioned disadvantages. With the The process is said to be sheet material that is made entirely or partially of carbon fibers exists and is used as a resistance heating element, mechanically permanent and electrically optimally conductive with a metallic contact hand like this be connected that the introduced carbon fiber material as possible used completely and evenly as a current conductor or ohmic resistor can be. In addition, current peaks and the resulting local Overheating can be avoided. The electrically conductive connection may Flexibility of the flat material does not restrict and must the static and dynamic loads that the heating element at subject to its intended use, withstand. Finally The method sought should be as cost-effective and continuous as possible be feasible.

In the embodiment of the inventive concept shown in FIG. 1, the flat material consisting essentially of carbon fibers is designated by 1, the metallic contact strip by 2 and the contact tongues unfolded by approximately 90 ° by 3. After the contact tongues 3 have been folded out, corresponding vacancies 3 ′ are formed in the contact band, which in the present case have the shape of an equilateral triangle. The sectional representations belonging to section lines AA and BB show an intermediate step in the production of the electrically conductive connection between flat material 1 and contact strip 2 . The contact tongues 3 have been pushed through the fleece-like flat material 1 and have not yet been bent over. In the next step, the contact tongues are bent again in the same direction by about 90 ° so that they rest on the back of the flat material and essentially parallel to the contact strip 2 . It is in your hand to compress the flat material 1 more or less in order to produce the necessary mechanical strength of the connection.
FIG. 2 shows an alternative to the method according to FIG. 1. The flat material is denoted by 4, the metallic contact strip by 5 and the contact tongues by 6. The size and arrangement of the contact tongues 6 and, accordingly, the vacancies 6 'in the contact strip 5 correspond to those in FIG. 1. In the method according to FIG. 2, however, the contact strip 5 is first placed on the flat material 4 and the necessary cuts are then made for production of the contact tongues 6 , so that not only the contact strip 5 , but also the sheet material 4 is severed. From the sectional view of the connecting area belonging to the section line BB it follows that the contact tongues 6 are bent by a total of approximately 180 ° and that the flat material 4 in the area of the contact tongues 6 is compressed to approximately half the thickness. Here too, the compression of the flat material 4 depends on the required mechanical strength.
In FIGS. 3 to 6, some possible forms of arrangement of the contact tongues are shown. To simplify matters, the flat material has not been shown. The outline shapes of the contact tongues 3 , 6 are shown , which arise in the first process step, in which either only the contact strip 2 according to FIG. 1 or else the contact strip 5 is cut together with the flat material 4 according to FIG. 2. 7 In all cases, the bending edge is designated. In FIGS. 3 to 5, the contact strips 2, 5, two rows 10, 11 of contact blades 3, 6, whose area is limited in each of the bending line 7 and from the two cutting edges 8 and 9 have. In Fig. 3, the bending lines 7 run parallel to the longitudinal direction of the contact strip 2 , 5 and the cutting lines 8, 9 are guided so that all contact tongues 3 , 6 must be bent in the same direction from top to bottom. Of this embodiment, Fig. 4 differs in that the upper row 10 of the contact tongues 3, 6 must be folded from top to bottom, while the lower row 11 of the contact tongues 3, 6 is oppositely bent from the bottom upwards. In this case, the tips of the bent contact tongues 3 , 6 all point towards the center line of the contact strip, while in the embodiment according to FIGS. 1 and 2 the tips of the bent contact tongues 3 , 6 point towards the edge of the contact strip 2 , 5 .
In the embodiment according to FIG. 5, contact tongues 3 , 6 in the form of a simultaneous triangle are again provided in both rows 10 , 11 , but here the bending lines 7 are set obliquely to the longitudinal axis of the contact strip 2 , 5 .
Finally, in the embodiment according to FIG. 6, a total of five rows of contact tongues 3 , 6 are provided, which are evenly distributed over the width of the contact strip 2 , 5 . The contact tongues 3 , 6 have the shape of an equilateral triangle with bending lines 7 running transversely to the longitudinal direction of the contact strip 2 , 5 . The idea of the invention is in no way limited to the forms of the contact tongues shown here. Rather, semicircular, rectangular or otherwise configured contact tongues can also be used. The only thing that is important in any case is a straight bending edge, because otherwise bending about 180 ° in the end is not feasible.
In view of the usually transverse to the longitudinal direction of the contact strip 2, 5 taking place power dissipation is provided in all cases that the longitudinal distance between the contact tongues 3, 6, a number 10 is smaller than 15 (6 cf. Fig. 3 and Fig.) As the longitudinal extent 16 of the contact tongues 3 , 6 of the other row (s) 11 or 11 to 14 . In this way, an overlap is achieved, so that no strand of the flat material 1 , 4 extending transversely to the longitudinal direction of the metallic contact strip is excluded from the contacting and current transmission.
FIG. 4 shows an embodiment according to FIG. 2, in which the contact area is covered with a protective layer 17 . Such a protective layer can be applied on one or both sides in order to electrically isolate the contact area from the surroundings, to avoid the risk of injury from the bent tips of the contact tongues during further processing and / or to mechanically stabilize the area weakened by the incisions.
If the flat material is in the form of an elongated web, the method according to the invention can advantageously be used for the continuous production of an electrically conductive connection between the flat material 1 , 4 and the contact strips 2 , 5 , as shown in FIG. 8 continuously on the edge of the flat material 1 , 4 are attached. The method can of course also be used if a cut-to-size adapter 19 according to FIG. 9 is to be provided with segments 18 of the metallic contact strip in segments.
