Der eigentliche Verschlufs besteht aus einer runden Scheibe a, mit welcher die Flaschenöffnung verdeckt wird. Um hierbei einen dichten Verschlufs zu erzielen, ist an der Scheibe ein 'Gummiring c angeordnet, welcher sich gegen den Rand des Flaschenhalses preist. Die Scheibe α wird von einem aufgeschnittenen Ringe (b) umfafst, welcher durch Vermittelung eines Hebels zusammengezogen werden kann. Das ä'ufsere Ende des Flaschenhalses k ist gekrümmt (Fig. 3), und eine entsprechende Krümmung besitzt auch der erwähnte, den Theil k umfassende Ring b. Es ist nun leicht zu ersehen, dafs sich der Ring b bei seinem Zusammenziehen nach unten bewegt, weil die untere Kante desselben am unteren Theile der Krümmung des Flaschenhalses anliegt. Durch diese Abwärtsbewegung drückt der Ring die Scheibe α gegen die Mündung der Flasche und bewirkt damit einen dichten Verschlufs derselben.The actual closure consists of a round disc a, with which the bottle opening is covered.
