Abstract

Description

Field of application of the invention

The invention is applicable everywhere where a deodorizing and astringent and a skin-care effect on the human skin is to be achieved. The use as a solid gel in stick form as an application is preferred. The product is applied manually to the skin where it develops a deodorizing, refreshing and at the same time caring effect, so that this preparation can be used in subjects who exhibit intolerance to other forms of application, such as sprays.

According to the invention the object is achieved in that in the sodium stearate base formulation 0.2-10% (mass fractions) of a suitable additional emulsifier system are incorporated. Suitable emulsifiers are saturated natural fatty alcohols of chain length C ₁₆ -C ₈ , highly ethoxylated fatty alcohols and partial ester mixtures of high molecular weight saturated fatty acids with glycerol. Particles of high molecular weight fatty acids and sodium alkylaryl sulfonates can furthermore be used as the emulsifier system. Also suitable is the use of fatty alcohols and fatty alcohol sulfates. Particularly supple stick formulations are obtained by using partial ester mixtures of unsaturated fatty acids with glycerol, sorbitol or sorbitan and with partial ester mixtures of unsaturated fatty acids with glycerine and propylene glycol.

The deodorizing effect of the deodorant sticks is retained even when ethoxylated fatty alcohols are used, when the deodorant triclosan (Ciba-Geigy) is used.
