Fig. 1Continuous wavelength compensation using luminescent diodes refers to an arrangement for obtaining optical radiation with a defined, adjustable centroid wavelength. The invention can be used in spectrophotometry and to obtain a certain color in display elements. According to the invention, two light emitting diodes of different emission wavelengths flow through two streams, so that the spectral radiation power distributions add up due to the spectral sensitivity of the radiation receiver. The invention can be used in spectrophotometry and to obtain a certain color in display elements.
There is no known technical solution for continuous wavelength adjustment when using light-emitting diodes.
The aim of the invention is to obtain an optical radiation with a defined, adjustable center-of-wavelength wavelength when using light-emitting diodes.
The invention has for its object to ensure a continuous adjustment of the centroid wavelength of the radiation of light-emitting diodes.
According to the invention the object is achieved in that two light emitting diodes (1, 2) of different emission wavelengths of two currents (J 1 , i 2 ) are flowed through, so that the spectral radiation power distributions due to the spectral sensitivity of the radiation receiver (3) add up. For this purpose, the light-emitting diodes (1,2) are to be arranged so that their Abstrahlkegel on the position of the radiation receiver (3) superimposed (Figure 1).
Die beiden Ströme (i,, i2) können durch Aufteilung eines konstanten Stromes (i) erzeugt werden (Fig. 2).The two currents (i, i 2 ) can be generated by dividing a constant current (i) (FIG. 2).
When assigning the currents (I 1 , 12) to the peak or center wavelengths of the emitted radiation, it should be taken into account that the peak wavelength of the individual light-emitting diode is dependent on the current and the chip temperature.
Gegebenenfalls ist eine entsprechende Kalibrierung realisierbar. If necessary, a corresponding calibration can be realized.
The light-emitting diodes can also be formed by Mohrfachlumineszenzdioden or opto-arrays.
The exemplary embodiment will be explained with reference to FIGS. 2 to 6.
The constant current i (FIG. 2) is divided by a variable resistor R. The current i, flows through the Luminenzenzdiode 1. The current I2 flows through the light emitting diode 2 and through the resistor R v . The light emitting diodes are chosen so that the current i 2 flows through the diode with the greater radiant power. The current distribution is influenced by the series resistor R V so that both LEDs have the same radiation power.
Fig.3 bis Fig.6 zeigen die spektralen Verteilungen der Strahlungsleistung ε,, der erfindungsgemäßen Vorrichtung als Funktion der Wellenlänge λ bei verschiedenen Strornaufteilungen.FIGS. 3 to 6 show the spectral distributions of the radiant power ε 1, of the device according to the invention as a function of the wavelength λ at different beam splits.
Die Farben der einzelnen Lumineszenzdioden sind:The colors of the individual light-emitting diodes are:
