Description
The invention relates to a process for the electrokinetic and / or electrostatic coating of objects with pulverulent particles by means of an electrokinetic and / or electrostatic powder spray gun or by means of a dip tank for the production of one or more complete or partial coatings.
In the glass industry, for the production of colored glasses, for. B. Römer, applied the Überfangtechnik. In this case, a second hot-colored glass body is applied to a blown hot, usually colorless glass body. This known technical solution has several disadvantages, it is very labor-intensive and time-consuming. Another disadvantage is that a required uniform color distribution over the entire surface is not always guaranteed.
The aim of the invention is to develop a method for electrokinetic and / or electrostatic coating of articles, in which the disadvantages described are largely avoided, in addition an extension of the surface design is achieved and the method is not limited to glassware.
It is an object of the invention to develop a method for electrokinetic and / or electrostatic coating of articles with powdered particles to produce one or more complete or partial coatings wherein a simpler method of operation saves time and uniformity over the entire surface or other desired surface Design effects result.
According to the invention, this object is achieved by a method where the particles are charged electrokinetically and / or electrostatically and by electrical forces on the z. B. knock down hot object, melt and fused in a further smelting process to form a uniform layer. The electrokinetic and / or electrostatic application of the particles takes place either with powder spray devices or in a dip tank with high voltage electrodes in the fluidized bed or in the powder cloud.
The said process produces a homogeneous particle distribution and thus a homogeneous color layer or other coating on the article or particles of the article, e.g. in the form of swabs, achieved.
These methods have been known for years, but have not been used in the glass industry due to ignorance. It is also known that ζ. As ceramic tiles or glass vases are electrokinetically or electrostatically coated in a cold state with plastic powder. Thereby two different substances are connected. According to the invention, however, the same or similar materials are brought together, for. As glass powder on glass, ceramic on ceramic, enamel on glass, ceramic on glass or porcelain on glass and vice versa. According to the silicate chemistry, these substances all have similar starting materials; The substances mentioned can also be applied to metal by the mentioned methods, for. B. Email on iron sheet. Since the silicate powders, when electrically charged, are rapidly discharged near the hot object, they must be η through an electric field to the workpiece. At the high temperature, the glass body acts like an electric conductor, therefore the glassmaker pipe is earthed via a clamp and a metal cable. Lead glass has proven to be the best choice for the vitreous body.
Some silicate powders must first be dried before application and screened again with a 250 mesh sieve, although they are made with a mean grain size of about 40 / zm. The powders take during transport and storage z.T. Moisture and agglomerate. In addition, they are mechanically solidified during storage.
As order materials> I particularly enamel white and black, ceramic glazes, z. B. blue, and leaded glass, z. B. blue and purple.
Eine Nachbehandlung des Glasgegenstandes, z. B. das Schleifen von Römern, ist möglich. An aftertreatment of the glass article, z. As the grinding of Romans is possible.
By the combination of electrokinetic and electrostatic application of the powder z. B. on hot glassware with external appearance, this is substantially improved by intensive, targeted coating of mountains or valleys and allows design effects, eg. B. by different colors of the same or other materials of the applied particles.
The invention will be explained below with reference to exemplary embodiments.
Example 1: A hot glass body is taken out of the melt. This glass body is grounded over the glassmaker pipe and is continuously rotated by the glassblower. Meanwhile, a high voltage of ± 2OkV was applied to the sprayer and the powder atomizing air was turned on. The spray is approximated to within 4cm of the vitreous body, creating an electrical field of 6 ... 10kV / cm and the charged powder particles leads to the glass body. The charging of the powder particles is done either by friction with Isolierstoffkörpern in the spray and / or by the high voltage to the charging electrodes. The glass body as a raw material, after being taken from the melt, a temperature of 1000 ... 1200 0 C. The coating with colored glass flour is preferably carried out in three steps; Turn the blown glass body over and coat it for 10 ... 15 seconds and then melt it in the oven, then repeat the process twice more with the same coating time and temperature until a smooth surface results. The color layer is evenly distributed over the entire surface.
Example 2: The glass blank is removed from the melt, immersed in the powder cloud above the fluidized bed and continuously rotated. The hot glass body is evenly coated by the charged powder particles. The process is repeated several times as in the example.
Example 3: The hot glass body is immersed and rotated directly into the fluidized bed of the dip tank. The particles of the fluidized bed are electrically charged. At the high-voltage electrodes of the fluidized bed is a high voltage of about ± 40 ... ± 60 kV, so that here again an electrical guide field of 6 ... 10kV / cm at a distance of the glass body to the electrodes of 6 ... 10cm is formed , The charged particles are guided by the guide field in addition to the mechanical movement in addition to the glass body and can be deposited there.
Example 4: The glass body is removed from the melt and provided with an external appearance. The powder spraying organ is used to electrokinetically coat the valleys and then electrostatically the mountains. It is thus achieved a differentiation of the layer thickness and color design.
