Description
Verfahren zur Herstellung homogener, konzentrierter Polymerlösungen .. · 'Process for the preparation of homogeneous, concentrated polymer solutions.
The invention relates to a process for the preparation of homogeneous, concentrated polymer solutions of cellulose, N-methylmorpholine-N-oxide (MMNO) and water and is used in the chemical fiber and plastics industry for the production of fibers and films.
(FR-PS 2 398 788)It is known that cellulose in melting MMNO monohydrate at 85 - 110 0 C to suspend and dissolve. In addition, cellulose is introduced at temperatures below 85 0 C in a solution consisting of MMNO and a secondary component, which is a solvent for MMNO and a non-solvent for cellulose. The second component is then distilled off at elevated temperature under vacuum. (FR-PS 2 398 788)
It is further known to suspend cellulose in dilute aqueous MMNO solutions at room temperature and then above 85 0 C under vacuum, the over-

(GB-PS 8 216 556,SU-PS 994 587)to distil off schüssige water with simultaneous dissolution of the cellulose. (GB-PS 8 216 556, SU-PS 994 587)
These methods use cellulose concentrations of 5 to 15% by weight based on the solution. They have in common that the ratio of cellulose and MMNO in the suspension and solution is identical and is between 1: 5 and 1: 30. This has the consequence that the pulp must be prepared and entered in fine distribution, so that a homogeneous suspension and solution is formed.
Although the dilution of MMNO by water or a secondary component allows the entry of pulp without prior comminution, but requires the removal of water or the second component of the highly viscous suspension or solution by complex vacuum distillation.
With the aspired increasing cellulose concentration in the solution, these disadvantages of the known processes were increasingly emphasized.
The object of the invention is a process for preparing concentrated polymer solutions of cellulose, MMNO and water, which is characterized in terms of homogeneity of the solution, reproducibility of the composition and.Lowerem energy and labor.
- 3 Darlegung des Wesens der Erfindung - 3 Presentation of the essence of the invention
The object of the invention is to develop a process which allows the production of homogeneous, concentrated polymer solutions of cellulose, MMNO and water at low temperatures and without vacuum distillation.
According to the invention, this is achieved by introducing cellulose into a 65-75% by weight aqueous MMNO solution in a liquor ratio of 1:40 to 1: 120 at temperatures between 20 and 70 ° C. and homogenizing the suspension in a shear field. The temperature depends on the MMNO used and the liquor ratio according to the desired cellulose concentration. Temperature and liquor ratio determine the viscosity of the suspension.
Subsequently, the liquor ratio of the suspension is reduced to 1: 2.5 to 1: 7 by centrifuging or pressing and this directly or after drying to a water content of 10 - 15% by weight (based on MMNO) in an extruder with degassing zone at temperatures between 75 and 120 0 C converted into a clear solution.
The invention will be explained below with reference to exemplary embodiments.
Nach einer Quellzeit von ca. 10 MinutenIn a Doppelmantelrührgefäß 9300 g 70% by mass aqueous MMNO solution are presented, heated to 45 C and added 100 g of leaf pulp with 6% by weight of moisture content. und einer Rührzeit von ca. 15 Minuten entsteht eine homogene Suspension. The cellulose is whipped up to the single fiber. Centrifugation reduces the liquor ratio of the suspension from 1:93 to 1: 3.72. Subsequent vacuum drying at 100 C for 1 hour reduces the water content of the suspension from 23.6 to 13 mass. The drying is associated with a comminution of the material. The suspension is fed to a twin-screw extruder with degassing zone and the same sheared at 80 to 110 0 C in a clear solution.
Die Lösung hat eine Zusammensetzung von 24,8 Masse% Cellulose, 65,2 Masse% MMNO und 10,0Masse% H3O.The solution has a composition of 24.8 mass% cellulose, 65.2 mass% MMNO and 10.0 mass% H 3 O.
In Doppelmantelrührgefäß similar to Example 1 12000 g 75% by mass aqueous MMNO solution are presented, heated to 60 0 C, 100 g of dry leaf pulp added and stirred for an oiling time of 10 minutes for about 20 minutes. The result is a homogeneous suspension whose liquor ratio is reduced by pressing from 1: 120 to 1: 3.1. The resulting composition of composition 24.4% by mass of cellulose, 56.7% by mass of MMNO and 18.9% by mass of water is crushed and fed directly to a twin-screw extruder with degassing, which converts at 80 115 0 C, the suspension in a solution.
Die Lösung hat eine Zusammensetzung von 29 Masse% Cellulose, 62 Masse% MMNO und 9 Masse% Wasser und bildet mesomorphe Phasen. The solution has a composition of 29 mass% cellulose, 62 mass% MMNO and 9 mass% water and forms mesomorphic phases.
In Ooppelmantelrührgefäß analogous to Example 1 20 kg 65% by mass aqueous MMNO solution are presented, heated to 30 0 C, 425 g of pulp entered with 6 mass of moisture and pitched after a swelling time of 10 minutes for about 25 minutes. The homogeneous suspension passes into a centrifuge which reduces the liquor ratio from 1:47 to 1: 6.15. After vacuum drying at 100 ° C. for 1.5 hours, the water content of the suspension is 16.6% by weight. In the shearing field of a Doppelschnekkenextruders with a degassing zone at temperatures from 80 to 110 0 C, the suspension turned into a clear solution.
Die Lösung hat eine Zusammensetzung von 17,8 Masse% Cellulose, 71,1 Masse% MMNO und 11,1 Massel Wasser. The solution has a composition of 17.8% by mass cellulose, 71.1% by mass MMNO and 11.1% water.
