FigurA method and arrangement for multi-element analysis is proposed which serves to select spectral lines or bands from an overall spectrum and to improve analytical performance. By using only one dispersive optical system, the optional adjustability of the measurement parameters, image height, power consumption and carrier gas flow while simultaneously detecting several spectral lines or bands, is to be guaranteed. Description
Titel; Verfahren und Anordnung zur Mehrelernentanalyse Anwendungsgebiet der Erfindung Title; Method and arrangement for multi-elemental analysis Field of application of the invention
.The invention relates to a multi-element analysis method and arrangement suitable for selecting spectral lines or bands from a total spectrum for both emission spectral analysis and multi-channel atomic absorption analysis or for spectrophotometry. ,
'The devices for emission spectral analysis have, in addition to a dispersing optical system and a Uachweiselektronik an arrangement for the thermal or athermal excitation of the chemical elements contained in an analytical sample, which is a radiation or excitation source. The excitation of the spectral lines of the individual elements depends either on the temperature or the electron density. Since the exciting volume of a radiation source is always spatially limited by a colder environment, each radiation source has a more or less pronounced heterogeneity. This optimally excites spectral lines with different excitation energies at different points of the radiation source. The same effect occurs with heterogeneous electron density. '

. ' . . νThis phenomenon is especially pronounced if an inductively coupled plasma (ICP) is used as the excitation source. The optimal excitation regions for the chemical elements may be up to 20 mm apart. , '. , ν
Therefore, sequential operating spectrometers with ICP excitation - generally called plasma spectrometers - often have a device for mapping the excitation source into a dispersive optical system (DOS), which allows it to be pre-programmed and controlled by a microprocessor according to the spectral line set at the DOS Simultaneously operating spectrometers do not have such devices, they can only detect one point of the excitation source and therefore often do not reach the sensitivity of the sequential devices, if only a small amount of sample substance is available. so that either the emission of the excitation source, pulsed by sample injection or laser atomization or the sample is not continuously atomized as in the atomization of sparks or very short analysis times are required for a variety of elements, affects the Hacheinandererfassung optimal excitation zones negative. Further, for each spectral line, individual dependencies, such as the magnitude of the emission intensity, of the electrical power input of the excitation source and of the carrier gas flow for the sample substance sprayed to an aerosol, increase the dependence of the spectral line emission on the location of imaging. , There can be direct or indirect proportionality or a maximum through.
44984498
The known sequence spectrometers partly take into account the dependence on the electrical power consumption, in that they can be pre-programmed for each spectral line. This makes it possible for ICP sequence spectrometers when starting a spectral line, the location of the optimal excitation - called optimal imaging height - and simultaneously set the cheapest electrical power for this spectral line.
. . . . It is disadvantageous that the optimization of the imaging height, the electrical power and the carrier gas flow must be done individually for each spectral line to be registered, and the sequential principle therefore requires a very constant excitation source which emits unchanged over a few minutes. In addition, the total measuring time increases considerably. , , , ,
In Simultanspektrometern must be used in the known technical solutions with so-called compromise conditions in the adjustment of the measurement parameters. Λ This does not achieve the best possible analytical performance for each spectral line.
It is therefore the object of the invention to increase the analytical performance for simultaneous detection of multiple spectral lines or bands associated with measurement time reduction.

Adjustability of the Measuring Parameters Image height, power consumption and carrier gas flow with simultaneous detection of several spectral lines or bands is ensured by a method for multi-element analysis in which the spectral lines or bands generated by a dispersing optical system are fed to receivers by a light guide element solved that the light-guiding elements of spectral lines or bands that require the same or similar measurement parameters, combined into groups and these groups are assigned to the receivers optically one after the other. The invention furthermore relates to an arrangement for multi-element analysis in which light-guiding elements are assigned to spectral lines or bands produced by a radiation source.
χ Each of the light guiding elements can be inserted into a sectored receiving element. For this purpose, each sector contains at least one row of line-shaped receiving openings. Furthermore, each sector always faces a receiver coupled to an evaluation electronics. Between the receiving element and the receivers is. a mask provided with at least one opening, which optically associates with each receiver at least one receiving opening as part of a sector, and with respect to which the receiving element is displaceable in the line direction. χ
