It is common, the ballast main along with other required for ship operation supply lines including required in these lines fittings Such pipe channels, which must be accessible for maintenance and control of the accommodated in them supply lines and fittings and therefore have considerable cross-sections, reduce the space required for the accommodation of ballast water just needed in the lower area of the ship and therefore have a detrimental effect on the ship's stability. "This disadvantage is particularly serious for ships with a relatively high cargo center, that is, for example, for container ships For this reason, it is endeavored to keep the dimensions of the pipe ducts small by, for example, reducing the cross section of the ballast
/main line and also other pipelines is chosen as small as possible, but this then necessitates a more powerful pump because of the higher flow forces. Specifically, it has already been proposed to reduce the flow resistance in ballast lines (z * B 8 DD '' $ P 31 285, DB- OS 1556 675), as Ballasthauptleitung a provided in the double bottom of the ship tunnel to which the individual ballast tanks are connected via lockable lines difficulties here is the arrangement of the shut-off in the EU supply the tanks, which must also be accessible and accordingly © require cavities in the double bottom "as for the accommodation of the remaining supply lines further includes a pipe duct s z" B. must be provided in the side tank 8 is also in this solution the disadvantage of a reduced Ballastraumea in the lower vessel space available. /
Das Ziel der Erfindung ist ein für Schiffe mit Doppelluken aufweisenden Laderäumen, vornehmlich Containerschiffe geeignetes Ballastsystem zur Erhöhung der Schiffsstabilität und mit verbesserten BetriebseigenschaftenThe object of the invention is a cargo space for vessels with double hatches, primarily container ships suitable ballast system to increase the ship's stability and with improved operating characteristics
Darlegung ,„des Wesens der ErfindungExplanation, "the essence of the invention
Die Erfindung stellt sich die Aufgabe $ für derartige Schiffe ein Ballastesystem vorzuschlagen, bei dem ohne Einschränkung des für die Aufnahme von Ladung vorgesehenen Schiffsraumes eine große Ballastwassermenge im unteren Schiffsbereich untergebracht werden kann, dessen Leitungssystem relativ große Strömungsquerschnitte aufweist und bei dem die im Leitungssystem erforderlichen Armaturen gut zugänglich sind» Diese Aufgabe wird erfindungsgemaß dadurch gelöst $ daß neben der üblichen Anordnung von BaIrlasttanks für die Unterbringung von zusätzlichem Ballastwasser auf dem Innenboden der Laderäume mittschiffs unterThe invention has as its object $ for such ships to propose a ballast system in which a large amount of ballast water can be accommodated in the lower area of the ship without restricting the space provided for receiving cargo, the line system has relatively large flow cross-sections and in which the fittings required in the pipe system are readily accessible "This object is inventively achieved in that $ addition to the usual arrangement of BaIrlasttanks for accommodation of additional ballast water on the inner bottom of the cargo space amidships under

Die zum Ballastsystem gehörende Ballast» wasserpumpe ist an den Längskanal vorzugsweise so angeschlossen, daß dessen Einzelkanäle alternativ der Saugoder Druckseite zuschaltbar sind» Die Absperrorgane in den Verbindungsleitungen zwischen Längskanal bzw« den Querkanälen und den Ballasttanks sind vorzugsweise im Bereich der Querkanäle angeordnet.a continuous longitudinal channel with box-shaped cross-section and under the transverse ships extending cover strips between successive hatches ibzw in the region of the cargo spaces separating transverse bulkheads with the longitudinal channel in communicating Querkanäle are arranged, wherein the longitudinal channel and the longitudinal channel in which the double hatches in S c hi fslängsrichtung The invention further provides that the longitudinal channel and, if necessary, also the transverse channels divided by partitions in the interior in individual channels, which are suitably connected to each other and associated with their ballast tanks. The ballast pump system belonging to the ballast system is preferably connected to the longitudinal channel so that its individual channels can alternatively be switched to the suction or pressure side. The shut-off elements in the connecting lines between the longitudinal channel or the transverse channels and the ballast tanks are preferably arranged in the region of the transverse channels.
The width of the longitudinal channel and the transverse channels is limited by the width of the cover strips, their height can be selected according to the respective requirements. »Other supply lines can be laid on the longitudinal and transverse channels. * In this case, the maximum height of the Channels determined by the possible suction height of pumps possibly connected to these supply lines.
