The invention includes a device for applying planar, pollution-free solder layers of constant thickness on metallic surfaces and relates to the field of printed circuit board technology, but z. B. also the canning industry. The aim of the invention is to save the subsequent washing processes for the removal of delayed Lotbad cover salts and leveling measures to achieve a constant solder layer thickness. The essence of the invention consists in that a defined quantity of solder is supplied to the metallic surfaces via an applicator roll, which receives contamination-free solder during the rotation in a Loetschwall fed from a solder bath. In this case, immersion depth and speed of the applicator roll are chosen so that a sufficient warming and thus proper wetting is ensured. The thickness of the applied solder layer can be influenced by the surface shape of the applicator roll and the pressure force with which the metallic surfaces are pressed against them. The device can be used in the field of printed circuit board technology and in the canning industry.
Description
Vorrichtung zum Aufbringen ebener, verunreinigungsfreier LotschichtenApparatus for applying planar, contamination-free solder layers
The invention relates to a device with which flat, contamination-free, solder layers of constant thickness can be applied to metallic surfaces. The device can be used for tinning the conductor tracks of circuit boards, but e.g. also be used for soldering the longitudinal seams of food cans «
. 'It is known from DE-OS C230 1/04 2140116 that solder layers can be rolled onto conductor tracks of printed circuit boards with a coating roller rotating in a stationary solder bath. The solder bath is protected from oxidation by a covering salt or oil. During the rolling of the solder layers However, residues of the covering salt are always dragged onto or into the applied layer together with the solder. Even through complicated washing processes after the application of the solder layer, these entrained residues can not be completely removed. in conditions of use under high humidity, often to failures. , '
Aus der DE-OS 48b 1/04 1809206 ist bekannt, daß Lotschichten auf Leiterplatten auch durch Führen der Leiterplatte über eine stehende Welle des Lotes erzeugt werden können· Die so aufgetragenen Lot schicht en sind aber nicht eben und haben unterschiedliche Dicken· Eine nachträgliche Einebnung bindet nichtFrom DE-OS 48b 1/04 1809206 it is known that solder layers on printed circuit boards can also be produced by guiding the printed circuit board over a standing wave of the solder · The solder layers applied in this way are not flat and have different thicknesses · Subsequent leveling does not bind

Bei Leiterplatten kann es zu Delaminationserscheinungen kommen·only working time, but also claimed the applied solder layer and the base material. PCBs can cause delamination phenomena ·
From DE-OS 48b 1/04 1521225 it is known that planar solder layers on printed circuit boards by immersion in a solder bath and subsequent hot air leveling of the layer can be generated · Such devices are due to the system more expensive than the other devices shown · Moreover, here, when the application the solder layers are desired only on one side, expensive methods for covering the non-tinned page necessary ·
The aim of the invention is to find a device with which flat, contamination-free solder layers of constant thickness can be applied to metallic surfaces. In doing so, subsequent leveling measures that require the applied layer and the base material are to be saved. Furthermore, washing processes are to be used to remove deportees Residue residues are superfluous · The contamination-free application of the solder layers should prevent failures, even under extreme conditions of use · The device should be lower in terms of system value than devices for immersion methods with hot air leveling and ensure unilateral tinning in an uncomplicated manner ·
The object of the invention is to apply even, impurity-free solder layers of constant thickness to metallic surfaces. In so doing, such deficiencies of known solutions, such as the undefined solder supply and the wetting of the application roller during rotation in a quiescent solder bath, should be avoided in that, according to the invention, a device consists of a soldering bath, one or more devices for generating a soldering agent located therein.
Flow, one or more nozzles that generate the standing wave, an applicator roller which is arranged so that it dips into the standing wave, and a transport device, which leads the metallic surfaces to be coated on the applicator roller and presses against this, there « The means for generating a solder flow may be configured to generate a solder surge. To produce thick layers of solder, the application roller can be provided with transverse grooves. For additional protection of the entire Lotbadoberfläche it is possible to operate the device in a protective gas atmosphere.
The puncture of the device can be described so that contaminant-free solder flows through a nozzle and forms a standing wave. The application roller dives into this standing wave and is wetted. Wetting a long applicator roll requires a long standing wave formed by a plurality of juxtaposed solder flow producing devices and multiple nozzles. Depending on the depth of immersion in the standing shaft and rotational speed, the roller takes a defined amount of the solder. Immersion depth and speed must be selected so that sufficient heating and thus proper wetting of the applicator roller is ensured. The thickness of the solder layer to be applied can also be influenced by the surface shape of the application roller, application rollers with transverse grooves produce e.g. thicker layers than smooth application rollers ·
The application of the solder layer on the metallic surfaces is carried out by direct contact of application roller and to be coated metallic surface. By generating a certain pressure force of the metallic surface to be coated on the applicator roll ensures that the applied solder layer is flat and of constant thickness. Cover salts are no longer necessary with this device.
On the dormant part of the Lotbades accumulating oxide of the solder must be removed regularly by means of a scratch. For additional protection of the entire bath surface from oxidation, the device can be operated in a protective gas atmosphere «

The transport of the printed circuit boards 6 is perpendicular to the axis of rotation of the applicator roll 5 · The solder flow is generated by a screw conveyor 9, which is steplessly stepless
The application roller 5 is driven directly by a motor 11. For additional protection of the entire surface of the solder bath 1, the device can be operated in a protective gas atmosphere.
A further embodiment of the device is used for soldering the longitudinal seams of cans · The transport of the cans takes place parallel to the axis of rotation of the applicator roll 5 · For the development of the standing wave, however, several juxtaposed devices for generating a solder flow and multiple nozzles 4 are necessary, while a counter-pressure roller 7 · Furthermore, the device corresponds to the, for the application of solder layers on printed circuit boards.
