Abstract
The invention relates to a process for the preparation of highly porous and mechanically solid alumina-containing strand-like particles by sol-gel conversion, which serve in the chemical industry as an absorbent or as a catalyst base products. The aim of the invention is a method in which particles containing aluminum oxide are produced in strand form without a porositetetsmindernde compression of the molding material occurs. This is achieved by the alumina-hydrosol-containing starting mixture is introduced at a linear flow rate of 10 high -4 to 10 high -1 m times sec high -1 by Ausstroemduesen directly into the coagulant, which due to the onset of gelation by the shaping element certain cross-sectional profile is maintained, followed by separating the resulting strand-like products to particles of desired length and thermally treated in a conventional manner and further processed.

The extrusion process is applicable for the most diverse Formungsmasseη almost unlimited. However, this advantage is offset by a serious disadvantage. In order to lend the granules sufficient mechanical strength, only molding compounds with a high solids content and at relatively high molding pressures can be processed. De: High compaction pressure in the plasticizing and shaping process adversely affects the porosity, bulk density and other utility properties of the shaped particles. In addition, in many cases molding aids are required, which also adversely affect the quality of the granulated products.
The known drip ball method (CS-PS 102 445) avoids these disadvantages by forming liquid .Easgangsmischungen. For this purpose, an aluminum oxide hydrosol low solids concentration is added dropwise in a coagulant. By gelling the hydrosol mechanically strong and at the same time highly porous moldings are obtained. However, the process is limited to the production of exclusively spherical particles. A decisive disadvantage of the process of the liquid form of hydrosols is that thixotropic poration masses can not be processed.
Ziel der ErfindungObject of the invention
The aim of the invention is to find a method in which alumina-containing particles are formed in strand form, without a porosity-reducing compression of the molding material occurs.
Darlegung des Wesens der ErfindungExplanation of the essence of the invention
The object of the invention is to develop a molding method for aluminum oxide-hydrosol-containing mixtures of low solids concentration, in which liquid,
If necessary, thixotropic starting materials gelled into mechanically strong and at the same time highly porous particles in strand form.
The object is achieved by a process for the production of extruded alumina-containing particles by means of xoagulation of mixtures comprising alumina-hydrosol, in which, according to the invention, the starting mixture enters the coagulant directly through outflow openings at a linear flow velocity of 10 to 10 m whereupon the formed strand-like products retaining the cross-sectional profile determined by the forefingering element are separated into particles of desired length and thermally aftertreated and further processed in a manner known per se.
It is advantageous to use an alumina hydrosol obtained by reacting alumina hydrosol with a basic salt-forming acid in the acid / hydrogel molar ratio of 0.05 to 0.25.
The terms alumina hydrogel and hydrosol include not only these substances in the pure state, but at the same time also products with a low SiO 2 content.
In an expedient embodiment of the process according to the invention, the alumina hydrogel used is a freshly precipitated filter cake product having a water content such that the solids concentration desired for the hydrosol is achieved immediately. Without limitation, dried and ground 3öhmit hydrogels can be used alone or as an additive in the Peptisaticnsstufe.
In a preferred embodiment, the peptization is carried out in two stages, wherein the alumina hydrogel in the first stage initially reacts with the acid at room temperature. In the second step, the desired degree of dispersity of the primary particles of the hydrosol is introduced by subsequent heating to temperatures of 320 to 420 ×.

Form used to ensure easy and intensive mixing with the addition of a particular embodiment, oxidic or other optionally catalytically active compounds, preferably the elements of Groups IV, VI and VIII of the Periodic Table. The impurities e are added in an amount that can make up 1 to 80% of the total solids content.
The advantageous processing properties of the hydrosol mixtures prepared according to the invention also permit the use of pore-forming organic auxiliaries in proportions of between 0.1 and 25 pigs, based on the weight of the calcined product.
It is advantageous to slightly increase the viscosity of the starting mixture immediately before shaping by increasing the solids concentration or the acid modulus.
It is also advantageous to keep the Formungsraasse in a closed pressure vessel. By means of a slight change in pressure in the container, the molding compound, which contains 0.15 to 0.70 kg solids per liter, depending on its viscosity, is introduced directly into the coagulant via nozzle openings of different sizes. By using differently profiled nozzles granules can be formed with either circular, ring, star, leaf or other cross-sectional profile. As coagulant, ammonia water with 5 to 25 % by weight is preferred in which the alumina-hydrosol-containing mixtures gel at high speed, which is an essential prerequisite for the preparation of the molded articles produced by the process according to the invention.

Mass cut through directly passed on the exit side of the perforated plate thin wires in strand-like particles of desired length. The viscosity of the originally liquid suspension increased so much that the molding compound no longer formed drops. With this consistency, the mixture of a metering pump was introduced through nozzle orifices directly into 15% ammonia water, instantaneously gelling into a dimensionally stable strand

By using nozzles of different cross-sectional profile, strand-like particles with different geometrical shapes were produced. Their bulk density varied depending on the cross-sectional profile between 0.7 kg / 1 for the circular solid strand and 0.49 kg / 1 for the annular hollow strand.
Der Feststoffanteil erhöhte sich von ursprünglich 24,3 auf 23,6 % Al0O^.From an aluminum nitrate solution (0.1 kg AlpO ^ / 1 and 0.02 kg HHOo / 1) was added with stirring and water with an ITatriumaluminatlösung (0.24 kg A ^ O ^ / l and 0.21 kg JiaOH / l) Precipitated alumina hydrogel. The рН-7 / ert was 9.5, the precipitation temperature was 3 & 3 K. The precipitate was very easy to filter on the filter press. After filtering and washing, the hydrogel filter cake was reacted in a mixer with nitric acid. The molar ratio of acid to alumina was 0.1. The hydrosol obtained showed sedimentation phenomena and was then transferred to an autoclave and heated with stirring for 3 h at 373 K and then cooled to room temperature. The still liquid hydrosol, despite the viscosity increase, was added with alumina hydrogel as a dried and ground powder obtained from hydrogel filter cake after drying at 380K. The solids content increased from originally 24.3 to 23.6 % Al 0 O.
