Abstract
The invention relates to a process for working up aqueous polyvinyl chloride dispersions obtained in the polymerization of vinyl chloride by microsuspension polymerization. The aim is to separate the due to their manufacturing process particle size of less than 3 microns in the dispersion in an economical manner from derwaessrigen dispersion and to obtain free-flowing powders having a moisture content below 30%. This is inventively achieved by the fact that the 0.4 to 3.0% by mass bez. dispersion containing dispersants and / or emulsifiers is separated into the aqueous phase and the solid by means of solid bowl peeler centrifuges.

Charakteristik der bekannten technischen^ LösungenCharacteristic of the known technical solutions
It is known to mechanically dehydrate aqueous polyvinyl chloride dispersions by means of a centrifuge. The dispersions, according to the field of application, are generally flocculated and thus converted into a state capable of being filtered or sedimented.
In a centrifuge, a drainage takes place, but only gives a muddy sediment with high Eestfeuchtehalte. This sludge is then worked up in a known manner by spray drying, so that a very high specific energy consumption is present in this way (US 3 901 842) the flocculants have a negative effect on the quality properties of the product.

According to the principle of the micro-suspension process, a dispersion is prepared, the particles in the range of 0.1 to 3 pm after a logarithmisohen distribution contains with a maximum at 1.1 pm and is "stabilized solid alkylsulfonate of 0.9% based e The solids content is 35 % ·. Ss 200 1 of this dispersion are placed in a horizontally mounted Yollmantelschälzentrifuge with a drum diameter of 1 m. After a spin time of 30 minutes at a separation factor of 500 g, the peeling tube is used to remove the liquid having a solids content of 1.1 % , and then the solid with a residual moisture content of 23.2 % is discharged with a reciprocating peeling knife. From the discharge screw, the solid trickles with a flowability of 12.6 g / s in a 14 mm = Beoher in a bunker and is easily further promoted from here into any drying system.
