Description
The majority of biologically active agents are currently not used directly, but must first be formulated for effective use. This means that in the case of liquid preparations, the active ingredient is preferably mixed with solvents and emulsifiers to give a concentrate which, when used with water, gives a stable emulsion according to the determined application concentration. Solid preparations are mainly so-called wettable powders, that is, the mixing and optionally grinding of active ingredient, usually a mineral carrier and a wetting or dispersing agent, so that the application results in a normentsprechende suspension. The emulsifiers used hitherto come from various chemical classes of compounds. The nonionic agents are primarily adducts of ethylene oxide with aliphatic fatty acids, alcohols or amines or with differently substituted phenols or phosphoric acids. The anionic emulsifiers used as additional components are largely in the group of alkaline earth and amine salts of aromatic sulfonic acids. As dispersing and wetting agents for wettable powders can serve representatives of the emulsifier groups mentioned, but also numerous other types, of which only condensation products of naphthalene derivatives with formaldehyde or those based on taurine in addition to sulfonates of naphthalene and lignin should be mentioned.
The emulsifying or suspending agents must have a number of properties: good to very good emulsifying effect, which leads to stable emulsions or suspensions, they must be low in foam processing and must also be readily biodegradable. These properties, especially the latter, but were usually not given the required extent.
The aim of the invention is to develop emulsifiers and dispersants for plant protection products that provide stable emulsions or suspensions that behave foam-poor and are also readily biodegradable.
This object is achieved according to the invention in that the emulsifying and dispersing agents are obtained from products obtained by extraction of microorganisms grown on diesel fuel, such as yeasts or bacteria, with a solvent or solvent mixture which dissolves biolipids and hydrocarbons.
The stability of the emulsions is particularly good if, in addition, ethoxylated alkylphenols are added.
The extraction of the cultured microorganisms on diesel fuel can for example be carried out with a ternary mixture of 51,9Gew .-% gasoline with boiling range from 60 to 9O 0 C, 46,8Gew .-% acetone and 1,3Gew .-% water.
Especially when it comes to spray powder, it is expedient to wash out the extract one or more times with acetone and to use only the acetone-insoluble part.
For the emulsifying and dispersing agents according to the invention, the extracts of yeasts of the family Cryptococcaceae genus Candida are particularly suitable. They are waste products in feed yeast extraction and contain phosphatides, glycerides, free fatty acids, hydrocarbons of diesel fuel and also fat-soluble vitamins, coenzymes and sterols.
