Dosavadní stav technikyCurrent state of the art
Electrostatic precipitators are used to remove dust particles from the flue gas stream for various process applications. The quality of the gas flow distribution inside the electrostatic precipitator is important to maximize the operational efficiency of the precipitator. As pollution reduction requirements become more stringent and the operating conditions of plants producing polluted gas change, the need for ever larger electrostatic precipitators increases. Increasing dust generating operations or production volume leads to higher dust loading on precipitators and the need for improved dust separation efficiency. Where there are space limitations for expanding an existing electrostatic separation system with new or system expansion elements, it is necessary to improve the separation efficiency of already installed dust separators.
A common electrostatic precipitator consists of a main separation box with an electrode assembly. Electrodes can also be supplemented with devices for gas distribution, which are made up of distribution panels or separate distribution panels, the task of which is to create an obstacle to the gas flow and, by its shape, force the gas to flow around or pass through these distribution panels, thus reducing the speed of the gas flow when it flows around, and thus releasing heavier dust particles, which due to gravity fall out of the flow and fall downwards. An electrostatic precipitator is normally also made up of an inlet, usually conical or pyramidal part, extending towards the main separation box and equipped with one or more devices for gas distribution. The gas distribution equipment here also includes perforated or solid distribution panels, which have the same function as in the main separation box. The main task of the inlet part is to maximally reduce the amount of solid dust particles in the gas stream entering between the electrodes in the main separation box. A high concentration of dust particles causes more frequent sparks, discharges the electrodes more and reduces their efficiency. Furthermore, the electrostatic precipitator is usually equipped with at least one reservoir for separated dust, usually located under the main separation box so that separated dust from other parts of the electrostatic precipitator can also fall into it. At the same time, the container is equipped with a hole or opening for the discharge of accumulated dust. Furthermore, the electrostatic precipitator is usually equipped with an outlet part, usually also conical or pyramidal in shape, which can also be equipped with devices for gas distribution. A horizontal gap is created between the lower edge of the distribution panels and the lower inclined wall of the inlet and outlet section, so that the distribution panels do not directly touch the lower inclined wall.
Směrem proudění proudu plynu jev dokumentu myšlen směr od vstupu do vstupní části elektrostatického odlučovače, přes hlavní odlučovací skříň k výstupu výstupní části elektrostatického odlučovače.By the direction of the flow of the gas stream, the document refers to the direction from the entrance to the inlet part of the electrostatic precipitator, through the main separation box to the outlet of the outlet part of the electrostatic precipitator.
Příkladem tohoto řešení je dokumentTo achieve the required quality of gas distribution in the electrostatic precipitator, various gas distribution devices, so-called gas distribution devices, are used. They are various internal elements that are located in an electrostatic precipitator. These elements are designed to create the required velocity profile of the gas stream at the inlet and outlet parts of the separator. These elements are, for example, a rotating vane, which is a flat or curved thin but long plate, installed to minimize the pressure drop and control the gas flow velocity distribution and reduce the concentration of dust in the dust in the gas flow. An example of this solution is a document

WO 2020026370 A1. Another element, which is a perforated plate, fulfills a similar purpose. It is a plate or steel sheet with round or square holes of various diameters located in the inlet or outlet part of the electrostatic precipitator and used to distribute the balancing gas flow. An example of this solution is document WO 200194023 A1. Other elements used are non-layered (anti-sneakage) partitions. They are the internal baffle elements in the precipitator that prevent the gas from flowing around the active zone or field of the electrostatic precipitator. These are usually located along the vertical walls of the case. Typically, the baffle surface is perpendicular to the direction of gas flow. An example of this solution is document US 4725289 A. Another element used are hopper partitions. These are internal baffle elements in the separator's separated dust reservoir that prevent this dust from being swept back into the gas stream. An example is document EP 0254832 A2.
The gas distribution devices in the separator are mostly designed to achieve the required gas distribution quality and to minimize the gas flow resistance. The collection of a certain amount of dust on the gas distribution networks is considered a side effect that does not directly affect the sizing of the electrostatic precipitator, i.e. the calculation of the required size of the electrostatic precipitator to achieve the required efficiency of dust removal from the gas. In applications of electrostatic precipitators for the separation of dust in a technological process where there is a risk of dust sticking to the separation elements of the electrostatic precipitator, gas distributions with a tapping system are used. An example is, for example, the solution according to document WO 2020026370 A1. The Rapper gas distribution device is a device used to prevent dust from settling on gas distribution screens by pushing the dust out of the flow distribution screen plates so that the distribution devices remain unobstructed by layers of dust. Contamination or deposits on distribution equipment can cause significant distortion of gas flow patterns. The amount of dust collected on the inlet screens of the tapped gas distribution also has no direct effect on the sizing of the electrostatic precipitator.
A typical arrangement of known gas distribution panels at the inlet of an electrostatic precipitator has the advantage that a certain amount of dust collects on the top of the distribution gas inlet screens and subsequently, as they slide down or fall from the rotating vanes, the dust avalanches are effectively blown out by the gas flow through openings in the lower parts of distribution devices.
In the openings of the perforated panels of the gas distribution screen, the gas flow velocity is higher than the average gas velocity in the cross-sectional area just before the gas distribution screen, and the locally stronger gas currents in these openings disperse the accumulated, stacked dust.
In the lower part of the distribution nets, there is typically a large horizontal gap between the inclined wall of the entrance transition and the lower edges of the distribution panels, which allows dust avalanches to freely descend into the lower hopper. In this gap, the velocity of the flowing gas is higher, and the result is that the locally stronger gas flow blows away the smaller solid particles from the dust avalanches. This causes the redispersed solid particles once captured to enter in a larger volume into the flowing gas entering the first electric field of the electrostatic precipitator.
Electric energy is consumed to collect flying dust on the surface of the collection plates in the electric field of the electrostatic precipitator. In the case of low and medium resistance of flying dust, the higher the energy consumption, the higher the efficiency of dust separation in the electrostatic precipitator. Smaller size solid particles are more efficiently separated from the gas stream with a stronger electric field in the electrostatic precipitator. The strength of the electric field depends on the voltage reached between the electrodes in the electrostatic precipitator, the higher the voltage, the stronger the electric field. The excitation system control system for the electrostatic precipitator field tries to maintain the highest possible voltage during operation.
Je-li koncentrace pevných částic ve vstupním proudu plynu vstupujícího do prvního elektrického pole elektrostatického odlučovače vysoká, způsobují tyto prachové částice časté elektrické jiskry,If the concentration of solid particles in the gas inlet stream entering the first electric field of the electrostatic precipitator is high, these dust particles cause frequent electric sparks,
Intenzita jisker nebo oblouků je hlavním omezovačem dosahovaných hodnot napětí a proudu mající za následek snížení příkon ve vstupních polích elektrostatického odlučovače, což má za následek nižší celkovou účinnost odlučování prachu.- 2 CZ 309963 B6 i.e. short, sharp discharges of the electric field between the electrodes or electric arcs. The higher the concentration of solids, the more frequent sparks are detected by the control system. The intensity of sparks or arcs is the main limiter of the voltage and current values that can be achieved, resulting in reduced input power in the input fields of the electrostatic precipitator, resulting in a lower overall dust removal efficiency.
In the process of electrostatic precipitation of dust particles, the effects of agglomeration and deagglomeration of these particles also take place. The particle agglomeration effect helps in the separation of solid particles from the gas stream in an electrostatic precipitator. The effect of particle deagglomeration reduces the collection efficiency of the electrostatic precipitator. The particle deagglomeration effect dominates, when agglomerates of very large sloid particles with very small particles hit the electrodes at high speed and the impact energy from the inelastic collision is transferred to the small particle and the agglomerates are defragmented. Larger particles can remain on the surface of the electrodes, but small particles electrically jump from the electrode at a relatively high speed into the gas stream in the space between the electrodes. Therefore, the emission of particles at the outlet of the electrostatic precipitator consists mainly of the smallest solid particles.
Hrubé pevné částice mají tendenci klesat působením gravitace a překonávat odpor tekutiny v rozšířené zóně s nízkou rychlostí. Coarse solid particles tend to sink under the action of gravity and overcome fluid resistance in an extended low-velocity zone. In some industrial facilities, mechanical pre-collectors are used before electrostatic precipitators to separate solid particles from flue gas. For the pre-collector, additional space is needed in front of the electrostatic precipitator and an additional system for separating dust from the pre-collector is needed. The pre-manifold significantly increases the overall pressure drop on the gas cleaning device. The pressure drop of the pre-collector is usually much higher than the pressure drop of the electrostatic precipitator and affects the total energy consumption of the installation, including the required induced draft fan input.
The main disadvantage of the currently used electrostatic precipitators is that they cannot respond flexibly to the requirement for possible increased separation of solid dust particles without the installation of a larger electrostatic precipitator, multiple precipitators in a row or additional pre-collectors. Increasing the size of the electrostatic precipitator or installing additional pre-collectors or precipitators is also often limited by the space available in buildings. Another disadvantage is the already mentioned large horizontal gap between the inclined wall of the entrance transition and the lower edges of the distribution panels. Thanks to it, particles that have already been separated are swept back, which then create electric sparks or electric arcs in the electrostatic field of the electrostatic precipitator, and the efficiency of dust particle separation decreases.
The task of the invention is to create such an electrostatic dust separator from the gas stream, which will be able to control the velocity distribution to achieve the desired gas velocity profile so as to increase the efficiency of dust particle separation without the need to increase the external size of the electrostatic separator. First of all, it is about reducing the pressure loss on the gas distribution device, but at the same time, the task of the invention is also to reduce the risk of entrainment of already separated dust particles back into the purified gas stream.
Podstata vynálezuThe essence of the invention
Nedostatky v současnosti známých elektrostatických odlučovačů prachu překonává popisovaný elektrostatický odlučovač prachu z proudu plynu, zahrnující vstupní část, hlavní odlučovací skříň, alespoň jeden zásobník odloučeného prachu a výstupní část. Mezi spodními okraji distribučních panelů, které tvoří zařízení pro distribuciThe disadvantages of currently known electrostatic dust separators are overcome by the described electrostatic dust separator from the gas stream, including an inlet part, a main separation box, at least one reservoir for separated dust and an outlet part. The entrance part is equipped with at least one device for gas distribution containing distribution panels in solid or perforated design. The gas distribution device serves to reduce the concentration of dust particles, to reduce the pressure loss and to control the velocity profile of the gas flow. The separation cabinet is equipped with at least one set of electrodes. The separated dust container is equipped with at least one partition. Between the bottom edges of the distribution panels that make up the distribution equipment
- 3 CZ 309963 B6 plynu a spodní nakloněnou stěnou vstupního části je vytvořena horizontální mezera. Zařízení pro distribuci plynu je tvořeno soustavou vertikálně nebo šikmo uspořádaných distribučních panelů, mezi nimiž jsou vytvořeny svislé nebo šikmé štěrbiny sloužící pro průchod proudu plynu z vstupní části do hlavní odlučovací skříně.- 3 CZ 309963 B6 of gas and a horizontal gap is created by the lower inclined wall of the inlet part. The gas distribution device consists of a system of vertically or obliquely arranged distribution panels, between which vertical or oblique slits are created for the passage of the gas flow from the inlet part to the main separation box.
In an advantageous embodiment, the distribution panels have a vertical plate base, which is provided with side skirts on the sides. The side skirts are installed so that they protrude against the direction of the gas flow.
Prach následně vlivem gravitace spadává do spodní části distribučního panelu a dále do zásobníku odloučeného prachu. In another advantageous embodiment, the distribution panels have a U-shaped profile, where the side edge forms a 90° angle with the board base. In this advantageous embodiment, a first channel is formed between the side edge and the plate base, which serves to collect dust from the gas stream. Due to gravity, the dust subsequently falls into the lower part of the distribution panel and further into the separated dust reservoir.
Prach následně vlivem gravitace spadává do spodní části distribučního panelu a dále do zásobníku odloučeného prachu. In another advantageous embodiment, the side edges of just one distribution panel are bent inward at the ends. Due to this bending, the side edges on the distribution panel simultaneously create a pair of opposite first channels and a pair of opposite second channels. The channels serve to collect dust from the gas stream. Due to gravity, the dust subsequently falls into the lower part of the distribution panel and further into the separated dust reservoir.
Proudová clona tak překrývá alespoň spodní část distribučního panelu a alespoň v šíři distribučního panelu i k ní přiléhající horizontální mezeru. Proudová clona tak slouží pro eliminaci možnosti zpětného strhávání prachových částic spadávajících do zásobníku vlivem proudu plynu obtékajícího distribuční panel. In yet another advantageous embodiment, at least one distribution panel is provided on its lower part with a flow screen which adjoins the lower inclined wall of the inlet part. The flow screen thus covers at least the lower part of the distribution panel and at least the width of the distribution panel and the adjacent horizontal gap. The flow barrier thus serves to eliminate the possibility of dust particles falling into the reservoir being swept back by the gas stream flowing around the distribution panel.
In the following preferred embodiment, the distribution panel is made of metal or plastic profiles.
In another advantageous embodiment, the electrostatic dust separator is equipped with a knocking system for knocking sticky dust particles from the distribution panels with the gas distribution device, from the electrode systems and from the walls of the inlet part.
In another advantageous embodiment, the knocking system consists of a device from the group of devices: sound horn, electromagnetic hammer, pneumatic hammer, electromagnetic vibrator, hammer with shock rod.
In the following preferred embodiment, the distribution panels are suspended on a chain link at their upper edge and mounted on a guide in their lower part. This type of distribution panel mounting serves for laterally limited movable mounting of the distribution panels and for creating their own oscillations caused by the flow of gas around and through these distribution panels. This results in the automatic knocking of dust particles from these distribution panels.
In yet another advantageous embodiment, each distribution panel is equipped with a current barrier. In this advantageous embodiment, the flow barriers are arranged in such a way that the distance between the lower parts of two adjacent flow barriers increases in the direction of the gas flow.
In another advantageous embodiment, the lower part of the distribution panel is movable and is fixed to the upper part of the distribution panel by a hinge or a chain link.
V dalším výhodném provedení jsou distribuční panely děrované a jsou opatřeny otvory uspořádanými alespoň v jedné svislé řadě pod sebou. In another advantageous embodiment, the distribution panels are perforated and are provided with openings arranged in at least one vertical row below each other.

This invention relates to an electrostatic dust precipitator for cleaning gases from a gas stream with a relatively high dust load. Examples of operations with a high dust load are operations for burning fossil fuel in energy boilers, operations for the production of cellulose and paper, or operations of limestone and cement factories. This invention is primarily designed to work under relatively high dust load conditions with limited space requirements and higher requirements for dust separation efficiency.
The main advantage of this electrostatic dust separator from the gas stream is that it is able to significantly increase the amount of dust separated from the gas stream without the need to increase the size of the electrostatic separator itself for this increase in efficiency. Thanks to this, the electrostatic precipitator can achieve a higher dust separation efficiency, with lower energy consumption for electrostatic precipitation, and thus a reduction in the necessary operating costs. With this parameter improvement, the ability to effectively control the gas velocity distribution to achieve the desired gas velocity profile is unchanged. With this invention, on the contrary, the pressure losses on the gas distribution device are reduced, as well as the risk of entrainment of already separated dust particles back into the purified gas stream.

Příklady uskutečnění vynálezuExamples of implementation of the invention
The described invention improves the current state of the art in such a way that for the electrostatic precipitator 1 created according to the current state of the art, at the same size of the electrostatic precipitator 1, it significantly increases its efficiency, reduces the energy requirement and also improves the parameters of the gas stream F when it flows through the electrostatic precipitator 1.

I on je tvořen vstupní částí 2 kuželového tvaru, hlavní odlučovací skříní 7, válcového tvaru, alespoň jedním zásobníkem 9 odloučeného prachu a výstupní částí 10 kuželového tvaru. 1, 3 a 5. According to the illustration of the invention according to Fig. 1, at first glance the presented electrostatic precipitator 1 does not differ much from the prior art. It too is formed by an input part 2 of a conical shape, a main separation box 7, cylindrical in shape, at least one reservoir 9 of separated dust and an output part 10 of a conical shape. It does not differ in that the inlet part 2 is equipped with at least one device 3 for gas distribution containing distribution panels 4 in a solid or perforated design, nor the purpose of this device 3 for gas distribution. Here, too, this device 3 for gas distribution serves to reduce the concentration of dust particles, to reduce the pressure loss and to control the speed profile of the flow of the gas stream F. Even the main separation cabinet 7 does not differ much from the prior art, where it is equipped with at least one system of electrodes 8 and the container 9 of separated dust is equipped with at least one partition 24 as standard. The difference is also that between the lower edges 5 of the distribution panels 4, which form device 3 for gas distribution and a horizontal gap 11 is created by the lower inclined wall 6 of the inlet part 2, see Fig. 1, 3 and 5. The significant and main difference is that the device 3 for gas distribution is formed by a system of vertically or obliquely arranged distribution panels 4 , between which are created vertical or oblique slits 12 serving for the passage of the gas flow F from the inlet part 2 to the main separation box 7.
According to the specific embodiment of the invention shown in Figs. 2 to 5, the distribution panels 4 have a vertical plate base 13, which is provided on the sides with side skirts 14. The side skirts 14 are installed so that they protrude against the direction of flow of the gas stream F.
Zachycený prach následně vlivem gravitační síly spadává do spodní části 15 distribučního panelu 4 a dále do zásobníku 9 odloučeného prachu.According to a non-illustrated embodiment of the invention, the distribution panels 4 have a U-shaped profile, and thus the side edge 14 forms an angle of 90° with the plate base 13. In this embodiment of the invention, a first channel 17 is formed between the side edge 14 and the plate base 13, which serves to collect dust from the F gas stream. The captured dust subsequently falls under the influence of gravity into the lower part 15 of the distribution panel 4 and further into the reservoir 9 of the separated dust.
Kanály 17, 17' slouží pro jímání prachu z proudu plynu F. Prach následně vlivem gravitační síly spadává do spodní části distribučního panelu 4 a dále do zásobníku 9 odloučeného prachu.According to the already concrete example of the implementation of the invention, shown in Fig. 2 to 5, the side edges 14 of the distribution panel 4 are in the shape of the letter "L" and are also arranged so that they protrude against the flow of gas F. This arrangement of the distribution panel 4 thus creates a cross-sectional shape letters "C" As the side edges 14 of the distribution panel 4 are bent inwards at the ends, they simultaneously create a pair of opposite first channels 17 and a pair of opposite second channels 17'. The channels 17, 17' are used to collect dust from the gas flow F. The dust subsequently falls under the influence of gravity into the lower part of the distribution panel 4 and further into the reservoir 9 of the separated dust.
Podle příkladu uskutečnění vynálezu, vyobrazeném na obr. 1 až 5, je alespoň jeden distribuční panel 4 na své spodní části opatřen proudovou clonou 16, která přiléhá ke spodní nakloněné stěně 6 vstupní části 2. Proudová clona 16 svým tvarem a umístěním překrývá alespoň spodní část 15 distribučního panelu 4 a alespoň v šíři distribučního panelu 4 i k ní přiléhající horizontální mezeru 11. Proudová clona 4 tak slouží pro eliminaci možnosti zpětného strhávání prachových částic spadávajících do zásobníku 9 vlivem proudu plynu F obtékajícího distribuční panel 4.According to the example of the implementation of the invention, shown in Fig. 1 to 5, at least one distribution panel 4 is provided on its lower part with a flow barrier 16, which adjoins the lower inclined wall 6 of the inlet part 2. The flow barrier 16 due to its shape and location overlaps at least the lower part 15 of the distribution panel 4 and at least in the width of the distribution panel 4 and the horizontal gap 11 adjacent to it. The flow screen 4 thus serves to eliminate the possibility of dust particles falling into the reservoir 9 being swept back due to the influence of the gas stream F flowing around the distribution panel 4.
1, je oklepávací systém tvořen kladívkem 21 s rázovou tyčí 20.In another specific example of the implementation of the invention, the electrostatic dust separator 1 is equipped with a knocking system for knocking sticky dust particles from the distribution panels 4 with the gas distribution device 3, from the electrode systems 8 and from the walls of the inlet part 2. The knocking system can have different designs. According to non-illustrated examples of implementation of the invention, the knocking system consists of a device from the group of devices: sound horn, electromagnetic hammer, pneumatic hammer, electromagnetic vibrator. According to the example of the implementation of the invention, shown in Fig. 1, the knocking system is formed by a hammer 21 with a shock rod 20.
2 a 3. Na těchto vyobrazeních je vyobrazeno provedení, kde jsou distribučníThe knocking system can be replaced or supplemented by fixing the distribution panels 4 so that the flow F of gas flowing around these distribution panels 4 causes their vibrations, which would cause the knocking of settled dust. Such an embodiment is the embodiment of the invention according to the illustrations in Fig. 2 and 3. These illustrations show an embodiment where the distribution
Díky vytvořeným vibracím dochází tak k samočinnému oklepu prachových částic z těchto distribučních panelů 4.- 6 CZ 309963 B6 panels 4 are suspended on a chain link 22 at their upper edge 25 and mounted on a guide 18 in their lower part 15. This type of storage of the distribution panel 4 enables limited movement of the storage of the distribution panels 4. Thanks to the vibrations created, a self- knocking off dust particles from these distribution panels 4.
Figs. 3 and 5 show a specific spatial arrangement of the flow screens 16, highlighting their arrangement so that the spacing 23 of the lower parts of two adjacent flow screens 16 increases in the direction of flow of the gas stream F. This arrangement prevents the blocking of falling dust particles and clusters of these particles stuck to the distribution panels 4 and the creation of places in the gas stream F that support the formation of dust clusters. For the same reason, the flow barrier 16 is preferably formed as a partially side-opened multi-sided pyramid, see Figs. 2 and 3 with the open side adjacent to the lower inclined wall 6 of the inlet part 2. An expert in the field can easily come up with many other possible shape and material designs of flow barriers screens 16, which will meet the main condition of their use, i.e. prevent the passage of the gas stream F to the dust particles caught by the distribution panels 4 and falling into the reservoir 9.
To support the function of better dust collection, according to a specific example of the implementation of the invention, shown specifically in Fig. 5, it is possible to create the distribution panels 4 in such a way that their lower part 15 is movable and is fixed to the upper part 26 of the distribution panel 4 by a hinge or a chain link 22.
Distribuční panel je obvykle vyroben z kovových nebo plastových profilů, odborník v obou ale dovodí i jiné profilové tvary distribučních panelů 4, materiálu distribučních panelů 4, velikosti a množství otvorů 19 v distribučních panelech 4.Advantageously, the distribution panels 4 are made in such a way that they are perforated, while the holes 19 created in them serve to facilitate the flow of the F gas stream, so that the F gas stream not only flows around the distribution panels 4, but also passes through them. According to Fig. 4, the holes 19 in the distribution panel 4 are arranged in at least one vertical row below each other, but also in two, and according to the examples of the arrangement of the invention, there may be more of these rows, while the diameter of the hole 19 is chosen primarily in relation to the planned current speed F gas, through which the flow of F gas is to pass through the electrostatic precipitator 1. The distribution panel is usually made of metal or plastic profiles, but an expert in both also provides other profile shapes of the distribution panels 4, the material of the distribution panels 4, the size and number of holes 19 in the distribution panels 4.
This invention relates to an electrostatic dust precipitator 1 for cleaning gases from a gas stream with a relatively high dust load.

The total savings against the improvement of the electrostatic separator according to the prior art 5 and according to the invention are that according to the invention, the same space is required for the electrostatic separator 1 to achieve the new operating parameters, but the electricity consumption is 328 kW less and the electrostatic separator 1 will be 135,334 kg lighter.
The invention finds application mainly in the modernization of existing operations with electrostatic precipitators, where it is not possible to increase their parameters by installing larger and more powerful precipitators, because there is no place for them in the design of the operation. These are mainly operations producing a large amount of dust particles, such as incinerators, lignite power plants, lime plants, cement plants, etc.
