The invention relates to cartons for wrapping a plurality of articles, such as cans or bottles for beverages, and more particularly to cartons for wrapping multiple rows or layers of articles in a fully enclosed carton and cartons for wrapping articles in a non-rectangular configuration. BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

A carton having a top panel and an octagonal base is known from U.S. Pat. No. 4,747,485. The carton comprises a plurality of separate panels for closing the sides and ends of the carton.
