V současné době jsou elektrická topná tělesa složena z topného tělesa ve velké většině tvořeného z odporových spirál či drátů, či topných spirál různého tvaru. Tento zdroj je zabudován v krytu a ve velké většině toto topné těleso obsahuje ventilátor, který odvádí vyrobené teplo rychleji od zdroje. Nevýhodou těchto topných těles je jejich přílišná složitost, především v okamžiku nutio nosti výměny topné spirály. Dále jsou z patentové literatury známa technická řešení podle patentu č. GB 635682 A, kde je zdroj tepla řešen pomocí infračervené lampy a technické řešení podle patentu č. US 3104307 A, kde je ovšem řešena prioritně filtrace vzduchu a ohřev vzduchu je zde použit pouze jako doprovodné opatření umožňující snadnější nucené proudění vzduchu přes filtry složené z vlny, které však působí zároveň i jako izolant a teplo předehřátému vzduchu při filtraci opět odebírají.At present, electric heating elements are composed of a heating element in the vast majority of resistance spirals or wires, or heating spirals of various shapes. Výše uvedené nedostatky jsou do značné míry řešeny využitím žárovky se žhavicím vláknem jako elektrického topného tělíska, kdy topná spirála je nahrazena žárovkou se žhavicím vláknem určitého výkonu. Toto topné tělísko může být s výhodou doplněno ventilátorem, který odvádí vyrobené teplo rychleji a případně zacloněno.
