Description
Oblast technikyTechnical field
The invention relates to a catheter for intracervical insemination of animals.
Dosavadní stav technikyBACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
První kategorie umožňuje deponaci ejakulátu do děložního krčku (intracervikální inseminace). Druhá kategorie pak umožňuje deponaci ejakulátu do děložního těla (intrauterinní či transcervikální inseminace). Každý z těchto dvou výše zmíněných systémů má své výhody a nevýhody. Současné systémy inseminace budou dále demonstrovány na příkladech umělé inseminace prasat.Artificial insemination is an essential part of modern reproduction techniques. Artificial insemination techniques have evolved to develop different devices and systems to ensure high success rates. Currently used insemination catheters can be divided into two basic categories according to the ejaculate deposition site. The first category allows the ejaculate to be deposited in the cervix (intracervical insemination). The second category allows the ejaculate to be deposited in the uterus (intrauterine or transcervical insemination). Each of these two systems has its advantages and disadvantages. The present insemination systems will be further demonstrated on examples of artificial insemination of pigs.
Obecně uznávanou výhodou intrauterinní inseminace je možnost snížení počtu spermií a objemu ředěného ejakulátu na jednu inseminační dávku při zachování vysoké úspěšnosti zabřeznutí. Některé publikované vědecké práce uvádějí možnost snížení počtu spermií a objemu ejakulátu v řádu desítek procent oproti inseminaci intracervikální. Vnější katétr zajišťuje zavedení do dostatečné hloubky děložního krčku, vnitřní katétr pak průnik do těla dělohy. A generally accepted advantage of intrauterine insemination is the possibility of reducing the number of sperm and the volume of the diluted ejaculate per insemination dose while maintaining a high gestation success rate. Some published scientific papers report the possibility of decreasing the number of sperms and ejaculate volume in the order of tens of percent compared to intracervical insemination. Intrauterine systems, for example, according to European Patent No. 1395198 or Japanese Pat. Application No. 2005211190 is most often based on the principle of two rigid catheters inserted in each other. The outer catheter provides insertion to a sufficient depth of the cervix, the inner catheter penetrates into the uterus. The disadvantage of these insemination systems is the high risk of damage to the cervical mucosa and the uterus, in addition to the hygiene requirements. Introducing rigid catheters into the uterus requires high skill and operator discipline as well as ample time. Damage to the mucous membrane can lead to penetration of the infection and reduce the success of pregnancy after insemination. Newer intrauterine insemination systems - for example, according to US Patent Nos. 6526917 and 6662750, while eliminating the risk of mucosal damage, are not suitable for use in group pig breeding systems where the movement of animals interrupts the ejaculate flow channel. All intrauterine insemination systems are very hygienic and minimize the risk of infection.

Intracervical insemination systems are characterized by less labor. The main drawback of these catheters is the ejaculate backflow caused by insufficient cervical canal filling. Efforts to overcome this problem have resulted in a number of different catheter termination solutions. One way of solving problems in the intracervical insemination of sows is to use the specifics of cervical anatomy. The internal configuration of the cervix of the sows is a left-handed helix, as described in French Patent No. 2701385. The catheter of this patent is adapted to the anatomical configuration of the neck and allows deposition to the back of the cervix, thereby partially imitating the intrauterine insemination effect. However, this system is very demanding in terms of handling.
Podstata vynálezuSUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
The intracervical insemination catheter of the present invention contributes substantially to overcoming the above drawbacks of the prior art insemination systems. This catheter is, similarly to the known catheters, formed by its own catheter body in the form of a tube, at the insertion end of which there is an extension (olive) ensuring penetration into the cervix and fixation of the catheter.
Podstata vynálezu spočívá v olivce z pružného materiálu se schopností přechodu ze zaváděcího stlačeného tvaru fixovaného snímatelným obalem tvaru rukávce do relaxovaného tvaru vymezeného po sejmutí rukávce kanálem děložního krčku.SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The invention is based on an elastic material with the capability of transitioning from an introductory compressed shape fixed by a removable sleeve-like wrapper to a relaxed shape delimited by the cervical canal removal of the sleeve.
The elastic material of the olive is preferably a polymeric material, in particular expanded polyurethane or ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer.
The sleeve of the wrapper is preferably made of a polymeric film coated to facilitate removal of the sleeve.
Kombinací dvou různých tvarů (stavů) olivky, dosahovaného přítomností, resp. odstraněním krycího rukávce, je zabráněno zpětným výtokům ejakulátu a umožněn fyziologický způsob přijetí ejakulátu prasnicí. Po odstranění rukávce dochází k relaxaci olivky a jejímu přizpůsobení tvaru a velikosti φ φφ • φ * « φ « * • · φ · · » ··Combination of two different shapes (states) of the olive, achieved by the presence, respectively. by removing the cover sleeve, ejaculate backflows are prevented and the physiological way of accepting the ejaculate by the sow is allowed. The olive according to the invention can adapt to the cervical canal. The small diameter of the olive in the contracted state allows it to be easily inserted into the caudal portion of the cervix without the risk of damage. The sleeve surface also contributes to easy penetration into the cervix. After removal of the sleeve, the olive is relaxed and adjusted to the shape and size of the olive.
kanálu děložního krčku. Vlastní aplikace je nenáročná na manipulaci. Díky vyplněni děložního krčku a fixaci olivky je možné nechat katétr zavedený a umožnit prasnici fyziologické samovolné přijetí ejakulátu. Rukávec snižuje riziko zanesení infekce ze zevního prostředí. Roztažením a přizpůsobením se anatomii děložního krčku dochází k úplnému vyplnění kanálu děložního krčku a minimalizaci zpětných výtoků. Další výhodou je možnost provádění inseminace ve skupinovém ustájení, bez nutnosti umístění do individuálního boxu.cervical canal. The application itself is easy to handle. By filling the cervix and fixing the olive, it is possible to leave the catheter in place and allow the sow to physiologically spontaneously accept the ejaculate. The sleeve reduces the risk of infection from the environment. By expanding and adapting to the anatomy of the cervix, the cervical canal is completely filled and the backflows are minimized. Another advantage is the possibility of performing insemination in group housing, without having to be placed in an individual box.
