Vydobyté prostory za porubní frontou se zaplňují nebo likvidují různými způsoby. Většinou však dochází k naprosté destrukci prostředí a porubní chodby pak nelze opětovně použít. Protože je v některých případech nutno těchto chodeb následně využít k dobývání dalšího bloku, stavějí se ve vydobytém prostoru tzv. ochranná žebra. Jsou to obvykle podpěrné stojky, mezi něž se umístúje různý materiál, například kámen odtěžený z ražení přípravných děl, prefabrikované tvárnice a vyřazené pražce. Ve speciálních případech se pak zhotovuje bednění a vnitřní prostor se vyplní cementepoptikovou směsí. Všechna uvedená řešení jsou velmi pracná, zdlouhavá a nedostatečně účinná.The harvested spaces behind the front face are filled or disposed of in various ways. However, most of the time, there is complete destruction of the environment, and the canal corridors cannot be reused. Because in some cases it is necessary to use these corridors to extract another block, so-called protective ribs are built in the extracted space. These are usually support stands, between which various materials are placed, for example a stone extracted from the stamping of the pre-works, prefabricated blocks and discarded sleepers. In special cases, the formwork is then made and the interior space is filled with a cement-tipped mixture. All of these solutions are very laborious, lengthy and inefficient.

Výše uvedené nedostatky se odstraní použitím obalové jednotky ochranného žebra, jejíž podstata spočívá v tom, že je tvořena textilií sešitou do tvaru kvádru, v jehož vrchních rozích jsou umístěny úchyty, přičemž jeden z vrchních rohů je vybaven zpětným ventilem.The aforementioned drawbacks are eliminated by the use of a protective rib wrapping unit consisting of a fabric stapled in the shape of a cuboid at the top corners of which are provided with one of the top corners provided with a non-return valve.

Obalová jednotka ochranného žebra je tvořena nehořlavou textilií 1 s antistatickou úpravou sešitou do tvaru kvádru. Do jeho vrchních rohů jsou upevněny úchyty _2 sloužící pro zavěšení obalové jednotky na výztuž. V jednom vrchním rohu je upevněn zpět ný ventil 2 určený pro napouštění výplňové hmoty do prostoru obalové jednotky.The protective rib wrapping unit consists of a flame retardant fabric 1 with an antistatic staple shape.
