Abstract

The fibrin lysing reagent is preferably composed of plasminogen and streptokinase frozen in a coincidental relationship until the fibrin lysing agent through which streptokinase reacts enzymatically with the plasminogen to form plasmid is required. Preferably, the plasminogen is suspended in an aqueous saline prior to freezing including NaCl and Na3PO4. The present invention also relates to materials and methods for effectively removing ATA from a sample comprising nucleic acid synthesis. The present methods provide nucleic acid synthesis sufficiently free of ATA so that an RT-PCR reaction and other reactions involving reverse transcriptase can be performed.
