Abstract

Se desarrolló un nuevo medio nutritivo para el cultivo de levaduras, especialmente para el aislamiento, identificación y/o diferenciación de especies del género Candida de interés clínico o ambiental. La esencia de la invención radica en el empleo de una combinación de extracto de boniato y extracto de levadura o de tomate para proveer diferentes sustancias nutritivas. Al medio nutritivo se le incorporan sustratos cromogénicos y/o fluorogénicos, fuentes de carbono, sales, agentes buferantes, inhibidores de las bacterias y agar. El medio nutritivo permite la diferenciación de las especies de Candida por la coloración de las colonias, del medio, la emisión de fluorescencia bajo luz ultravioleta y la morfología de las colonias.
